MvC2 and TvC are totally different beasts when it comes to combo complexity though. There aren't any characters with tri-jumps or fly mode in TvC so the combo commands never get that complicated. A stick is definitely the way to go to play MvC2 seriously, but I don't think it matters all too much for TvC.

Wii and arcade. Only out in Japan right now, with a good chance it won't see a US release.

Thank god...those things were bitches to learn if you ever wanted to do good, almost as annoying as WaveDashing imo.

Doubtful, it was shown at this years Evolution 2008 Championship which took place as some beta event where they showed a rough version of TvC, BlazBlue, SFHDR, and SFIV instead of another tourney(GGXXAC presumably).

While that doesnt mean its going to be out for sure i would say that it just might be more possible than what we initially thought.

It'll never come here due to licensing issues. Tatsunoko's properties in the US are split among so many different distributors. It'd take far more paperwork and money than worthwhile to get all the permissions to release this game stateside.

A reskinning of the game into Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is probably more likely than a legit Tatsunoko vs. Capcom release.

Capcom doesnt own the Marvel rights anymore therefore they just re-released MvC2 for the 360. Imo though if MvC2 can be released in Japan(although they hate it), i am sure TvC can be here too. That and sprites are expensive to make and draw from what i heard.

Not quite; Marvel owns all the rights to their characters worldwide. In the US, characters created by Tatsunoko are split up among American-only companies like Geneon, Funimation, ADV, and even their competitors like Bandai.

Here's the intro to the game. It's pretty cool.

I want MVC3 or a MVC1+2 Combo Remake in HD. It'd be so awesome if they remade all of those fighting games in HD: MVC, MVC2, MSH, MVS (Wasn't there a Marvel vs Streetfighter?, and Xmen vs. Streetfighter. I never really got around to the Capcom vs. SNK games.

There was a Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter, but not a Marvel VS Street Fighter. Slightly different, lol.

Considering MvC2's character roster I wouldn't expect a third game. How many more characters can they afford to add? An HD remake would be cool, I guess, but I don't think those games have aged enough to warrant it. They may not be HD but the MvC2 sprites still look pretty sweet.

Holy God in Heaven, I thank You.

Morrigan and Lilith's sprites are FINALLY upgraded. Well, cell shading, but w/e, at least they're not the same sprites they've had for the past 10-15 years or so. Just the same motions. At least they're prettier now.

                        And yeah, Casshern. Nuff said.

Time to go off base and pick this up. And Namco X Capcom. Just cuz.

Yeah, Morrigan looks truly fantastic in Tatsunoko VS Capcom, the cel shading really goes well with her. My only gripe is that they removed her Soul Eraser (the laser cannon) super and replaced it with a Macross Missile Massacre-style attack, where a bunch of partially aimable missiles come out of the back of her wings and fly forwards. It's not that the damage is shitty but you can't really combo into it, which makes it pretty much useless as a bread-and-butter damage source.

On the other hand, her Lv.3 super (not sure what it's called, the one where she summons Lilith and they double team you) does obscene damage and seems to be affected very little by damage scaling, unlike Chun Li's. The difference isn't drastic, but Chun Li loses a bit of damage on the combo as a whole for each and every hit she lands before her Lv.3 super because the damage from the extra hits isn't making up for the damage she's losing on the super at the end. Her standard combos are reasonably damaging, too, so it's not all bad.

I'm guessing you have a JP Wii?

EDIT: Oh yeah, she no longer has to be airborne to use her Lv.3 super by the way. That's always good. And I was wrong about doing Hyper Variable Combination; you don't have to hit Assist at the same time as the super input (which is a horrible pain in the ass for controller users because there's no easy way to hit 3 buttons with your thumb, and hitting R + Assist at the same time always results in Mega Crash.) You just have to input a super for your current character and make sure you hit the Assist button before the screen freezes. This is pretty easy since you've got about 1/4th of a second before the screen freeze, and you can use R (all 3 attack buttons) to input supers, leaving your thumb free to rest on the Assist button.

I can get one real easily.

Also, that move of Morrigan's is called Darkness Illusion I do believe (although I could be wrong; it's been a while since I broke out my PSP). In this version, I guess they replaced the second Morrigan that appears with Lilith. Would make sense, however. In the original versions of the Dark Stalkers/Vampire Savior games, both Lilith and Morrigan had supers where they double teamed the opponent by splitting in two and catching them in the middle. The only real difference was slight power levels between the two, as well as naming convnetions that followed after who was using it (Morrigan was usually the darker, somber, but more seductive of the two, while Lilith was rather happy-go-lucky and innocent).

It is rather disappointing that they replaced Soul Eraser, but I guess I'll have to see it in action to see whether or not it's worth it.

I've liked how this game looked since I first saw it in the TGS news. I wanted to import it but the prospect of trying to get it to work on my US Wii is somewhat daunting.(I'm chicken with a saudering iron)

It looks like dead fun...and even if I don't know all the characters they at least look familiar to me...

You don't need to solder anything to play imported games on your Wii. Pretty sure Armando already mentioned it here or in another similar thread, but google "homebrew channel," and that's all you need.
