I've seen the previous version (minus WotG) in Best Buy bargain bins for $15. But I'll bet that you want the WotG content too. Try a Google search for people selling it via mail-order.

I've found that things are really only "dead" when someone wants you to buy the newer things that aren't selling all that well.

i have a feeling it won't be better than FFXI. This game is far from dead, if anything from what i've seen it has become more popular in Q4 2008 and jan 09.

I went to 4 different gaming stores today and all the 2008 collection packs were sold out, i luckily grabbed the last copy from the 5th store lol.

I don't care if FFXI is dead or not, I personally am done with it. However, I enjoyed by time in FFXI enough that I will defenately be playing SE's next MMO, whatever it may be. I'm certainly going to beta test, that's for sure. I just hope to god(or whatever diety is in the their new MMO) that they finally allow jumping(or at the very least, make sure the impassible terrain 'bumps' like the notorious one in Qufim aren't in the game)

Square, now SquareEnix does a lot of hype that may never amount to anything.

For years now they have been in the "production stages" of a three-quel to a game I love.

Chrono-trigger. Chrono-Cross. Now the name "Chrono-Break" has been registered. Its been patent and there is a reserve. However the game has went nowhere. The remake of Chrono trigger for DS give us Chrono fans hope tho, as teh same team is slated for the three-quel.

Id give the new MMO a shot as well, although I doubt I would leave FFXI unless SE were to shut down the servers. I have enough close friends that I know in RL as well that would keep playing just do stupid shit and such heh heh.

Everyone would be named zxGokuxz and play whichever class gets to use Luminaire and always include a Spirit Bomb reference in the macro for it.

The could use the sc idea from ffxi and double that with double/triple techs, and make alot of awesome combos.

I'm not exactly sure what I was going for there either. Something about big flashy things being kind of pointless if everything else is bland, and hinting that Chrono Trigger/Cross were kind of boring from a gameplay perspective outside of combat.

Hmm gonna have to disagree. Cross had the best music score of any game. To-date. Both games also had amazing story lines, with so many choices and branches, the replay value was astronomical.

I did read asshat.

Gameplay is a make up of music, replay value, storyline, graphics, and all the stuff that are involved when playing... the game.

The gameplay is what makes those games GREAT, not the combat. The combat WAS boring, the rest of the game, trigger, with more mini-games then a fucking carnival(there is one in the game), gives a lot to gameplay.
