So we get to see Organization XIII when it was actually organized and before we knocked them all off.

Picked up Re: CoM today. Very pleased with this version overall with the glaring exception that cutscenes' graphics are not rendered in game as per usual, but CG and rather poorly compressed CG at that. Oh well, price you pay for a $30 title I guess.

Still the most solid KH game of the existing titles thus far, though. Can't figure out why the bonus cards didn't unlock, though. I have my cleared game save. Do I have to come upon a Moogle Card shop first?

      I didn't like Chain of Memories personally. The battle system was just too awkward for me to enjoy the game ; ;

Doesn't this new one play out in a similar fashion too? or is more like KH 1 and 2?

Re: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days confirmed for the US

I think the new ones are both action-based, the DS installment is going to have multiplayer features and all members of Organization XIII will be playable.

Oh, and CoM is "awkward" because actual thought is involved, rather than mashing X a lot. Its admittedly a lot less difficult to get into this version, since they let you be even more of a whore about room creation than before thanks to the Roulette Rooms. Get one Roulette Room and before you're done with it, you'll have a ton of Moogle, Treasure, Premium and even more Roulette Room cards to play with.

It makes building the decks a ton easier, but it only takes you so far. The bosses still put up a real fight if you don't have the right decks built and sometimes even if you do. Jafar is a rat bastard and Larxene is mean. Don't even get me started on Marluxia.

I just like games where I get to collect lots and lots of cards. Persona, Baten Kaitos and Re: CoM all have cards as a central theme. But then, I'm biased toward the theme of cards, I'm a COR. Go fig.

There are plenty of RPGs that involve thought without awkward gameplay. Generally they actually give you TIME to sort through your menus without getting killed.

Fuck you? I didn't care for flipping through a billion cards while simultaneously trying to dodge attacks and counter with my own. You make it sound like KH1 and 2 have no stategy involved either when they do >_>

Just flailing away with the X button will get you killed pretty fast on Hard mode. It's not that I have slow reflexes, I just can't juggle combat and multiple menu screens at the same time trying to make split decisions from a massive list. It's managable in FFXI because of the auto-combat and macros (I don't have to manually evade attacks and even if I did I have commands macroed so I'm not scrolling all my JA and Spell Menus)

All of which is solved by deck building. Meaning, again, thought is involved. Forethought, actually. Planning ahead. If I know my enemy wields fire magic, Ice and Water will hurt him, so Blizzard slights and Dumbo summons help a bit.

Harder things on other KH games are worked around by levelling up, maxing out AP, Summons and spell lists. So the "strategy" is to just level like crazy.

But I guess when someone doesn't want to learn something, just write it off as "awkward."

I just find the other KH games so bland and formulaic in design, actually dreading to return to areas when new chapters are added to them. Gummy Ships don't help matters, if they put that in KH3, I swear I will go and stab them in the eyes with burning knives.

I don't want to play crappy shooters. If I want a shooter, at least give me something the quality of Gradius or a Treasure game so I can stomach it.

Also, let's just drop Atlantica, Agrabah and the 100 Acre Wood on the next sequel. Been to them enough. Plenty of other Disney properties to use. Hell, let's go save some FF worlds while we're at it.

Maybe when I get a Wii. The fact that its made by the Killer 7 team isn't helping its chances, though.

Mal, please just accept that BBQ is always right and always will be right and anything you say against him is wrong.

                Always.

No. It's not. Building a better deck makes the system LESS awkward, but no matter how powerful and well arranged your deck is, cycling around cards is awkward.

Just because you like something doesn't mean it's not awkward

You know, this is the first time I've ever heard someone say Killer 7 made them not want No More Heroes. I've only played the first couple levels of Killer 7 so far, but they are very very different games. I have a hard time whatever bugged you about Killer 7 would still bug you about No More Heroes; unless it's the ultraviolence.

Not any less so than the menus in the other games, but if you've stacked the deck well, there should be little need for cycling. The newly added hotkeys make the old system more manageable, something you're not considering, either. If I can hotkey the recharge card, I can put anything I need in a pinch at the end of my deck and cycle to it easily.

Both of you are judging the new version based on the GBA version, there are similarities and then there are a lot of differences.
