Sure they seem harmless now, but when children are being hooved to death in the street, our buildings reduced to rubble underneath long horns, our vegetable gardens chewed into oblivion in a hypnotizing circular jaw motion, you'll wish you had sung a different tune. We don't want to the smoking gun to be a methane emission from a cow's anus.

I know quite well what they're capable, I'm just pointing out who leaders are.

Has anyone ever thought of what the world would look like if humans didn't consume animals?

Sure cattle is raised by men... but what effects would it have on the animal population if suddenly humans stopped killing wild game?

More food for the carnivore species... more abundance of those species... craziness?

Well pretty sure it would be one of those self-regulating over time deals, carnivorous species flourish and reproduce, until their great numbers demolish their food supply, at which time they die off back into small numbers and the next predator on the block takes the stage for awhile.

You don't need to eat animals to sustain your life or have a healthy nutrition. In that sense, it's needless.

When you don't actually NEED to use them, yes, it is. Sort of like opening your mail with an antique sword. Sure, it serves a purpose, but it would be just as effective to use a box cutter from a dollar store.

Yes and we don't NEED cars. We don't NEED electricity too. And the list could go on and on. We've been doing it since the dawn of time so to say its needless is asinine. Yes, we could sustain ourselves without it but there isn't really a need to. That makes the suggestion needless.

I don't mean any offense by this but I've had this discussion many times and ultimately neither party will change its mind. We can get a cool discussion going here if you want but it probably won't end with any kind of agreement or middle ground.

Then don't start the discussion.
