  • GTA Strikes Again!

    This time in France:

Teenager torches cars after watching Grand Theft Auto video game

A teenager who torched three cars in Lyon, France, told police he wanted to imitate scenes from the Grand Theft Auto video game.
The 13-year-old schoolboy used petrol to set light to three vehicles after playing on the violent GTA 4: Liberty City game on his home PC.

The game awards points creating as much as crime and destruction as possible in a city.

A scene from Grand Theft Auto IV. A teenager said he was inspired to burn some cars after watching the video game
A Lyon police spokesman said: 'He said he played the game for a few hours, then wanted to go out and what it felt like to burn out some cars.

'This kind of entertainment is clearly having a negative effect on some young people.'
The boy, who can not be named for legal reasons, is set to appear before a youth court charged with criminal damage.

See, the problem here is that it took this kid until 13 and a video game to learn that gasoline creates bitchin' fires. Some irresponsible uncle should have tried to score cool points with him long before that, and taught him what sorts of things are okay to destroy in the name of momentary thrills. Like his older brother's possessions, toys he just got last week, that kind of thing.

Hmmm maybe the kid should have seen the other half of the game. Yes you can cause all kinds of damage and mayhem, however if the cops catch you, you get busted, and lose points. Pity he didn't remember that part.
