Pokey from Earthbound (mother 2)
- He is always a whining little beotch you just want to back hand but never get a real chance until the very end because he always runs away.
The Black Hat Chocobo Rider (from FFVII chocobo racing @ gold saucer)
Once you win and win he comes and shows up and tries to beat you, he is super annoying comming into the last run on the S course, when he catcjes up to you out of nowhere.
The Runaway Five Earthbound (mother 2)
Always always in trouble you think after botching a contract in one city they would learn to read fine print. Also ditching me in a town of zombies when I am only 10 years old, pretty responsible of you. (by the way I want my wad of bills and my diamond back)
In general to all RPG style games, how you can not use a revive item or spell, on a character who dies outside of a battle, I mean they can be revived after getting a meteor dropped on their head, but they can't if they get cut in the back?
I've said it before, I'll say it again FFXII is like FFVI - there was no main character. The main character was the one you liked the most. I liked Basch, Balthier and Ashe the most, for me it was more about them than the other three.
Vaan lost a brother to the war, murdered by what he thought was his captain.
Ashe lost her royal station, her husband and her father.
Basch was framed for murdering the king and Vaan's brother.
Balthier's father was corrupted by the allure of magicite
Penelo lost her parents, not much story do it, but there it is.
Fran was along for the ride, but was in it just as much because of the horrors the Empires and unleashed on some of her people.
That's so freaking cool! (For a sec I didn't see them and I thought you were taking about your computer screen and my kids in my avatar, then I looked up and was like, "Ohhhhh.")
I repeat: You're still forced to use him for most of the game, and he's the first character you get. Also, the party clearly regards Crono as their leader.
Also, saying "fixed part of the story" holds no weight for Chrono Trigger given that there are at least 13 endings to the game.
Technically speaking you can get most endings out of the way with a second playthrough. Most of the variations are a result of beating the game earlier and earlier into the plot, which is unfeasable the first time, but becomes feasable on a second playthrough using New Game+ (lets you start a new game with all the items and equipment of a cleared game save.) So you could save, beat the game at point A, then keep playing, beat it again at Point B, keep playing, again at Point C, etc.
There are only like two or three major character-related, ending-altering choices to make in the game. Each subsequent playthrough is also obviously easier since you'll have even more stat-boosting items when you start over, in addition to already starting with the best gear in the game. You can just plow through enemies.
People like Kefka for the same reason they like the Joker. He's self-absorbed, a sadist, a nihlist and has a dark sense of humor. He's not funny "ha ha," but he's amusing because of the incredibly dark things he says. He just likes letting you know he's evil incarnate.
When I hear lines like "Just because I have the joy of killing your family inside me doesn't mean we can't be friends," or "I prefer killing people with knives more than guns, its more intimate. You see, when people know they're going to die, they're more honest than they ever were in thier lives. Would you like to know which one of your friends was a coward?" Its creepy, disturbing and pretty damn arrogant all at the same time. That's the Joker and that's Kefka.
I didn't like how other villians became patterned after Kefka in the "frequent thorn in your side" kind of way. Kuja and Seymour Guado tried to be a Kefka and you really got pissed at them because they were just emo, not funny. Sephiroth didn't make frequent appearances like that, he probably just killed the cameraman.
Kefka actually became a recluse in the
second
World of Ruin
of FFVI until you entered his tower at the very end and made it to him.
