I had one of my first 'wow' moments with it last night. I'm totally taking the carnivore route and am trying to wipe out as many other species as I can. I came across a camp with a bunch of little teddy bear looking things. They were cute and squishy looking so I went in for the kill. They tore me to pieces. lol I couldn't stop laughing.

Ahh yes those, they are viscious, I revisted them with a pack of 3 others of my kin.

word of advice, if one is dead in front of you start eating if you health is low, the food increases health quicker than the enemy can hit you down.

Oh yes mind out for the epic creatures stomping around. and for a bit of fun, swim out into the ocean as far as you can and see what happens....

TGM I never made friends with any creatures, I just went for the predator urge and killed everything in site.

Yeah, at PAX the dev that ran the Spore panel showed us what happens if you go swimming.

So I purchased spore last night. Installed fine. Go to boot 'er up. Oh yay, SecuRom.

Guess who can't get spore to launch because the myriad of emulation software he has? PC game developers are beginning to lose touch with reality. Deploying all these nonsensical, bullshit anti-piracy packages hurt more legit customers than pirates. There is no fucking reason I should be forced to compromise the integrity (or lack thereof) of my computer to keep some big-wig corporate execs rolling in dough.

I do. I suck at drawing, so games like this provide an outlet for my creativity.

Though as it is I haven't played Spore yet. Downloading it D2D now, mainly because the nearest game store is nearly 30 min away. Maybe I should have pre-ordered it.... the D2D is taking longer then driving there would(though at least I'm saving money on gas)

Those teddy bears... they're called Squiggles, aren't they? I do remember those... I remember their beady red eyes shortly before I found myself hatching from an egg again. I think if you want to go after them, try getting some Rogue creatures in your group. It's awesome.

You know, I've been trying to hit the middle road of development for the longest time when starting from the cell stage and I never can. I keep going back and forth between tracks

Oh, and last night, I was having fun exploring black holes and hopping star systems to get Explorer 5 and the last drive, I ran across another one of my save files. Even managed to ally with them... only because it wouldn't let me use my planet destroyer on it

Side note: if you REALLY want to get on the good side of the Grox, terraform one of their planets... be sure you save first though.

First of all, the old testament isn't the Christians book, it's the JEWS book. It wasn't good enough for the Christians, so they had to have a NEW testament, with a new character.

The fact remains that the Old Testament is a JEWISH book and we clearly understand its a METAPHOR - there are any number of Rabbi's (mine is both cantankerous and old, a lethal combo in a Rabbi) who would be more than pleased to explain to the averge person EXACTLY how wrong their interpretations of OUR book are.

Genesis is a METAPHOR for creation, not one single Jew takes it as literal (and since we wrote the Torah, I think maybe we have the right to say that). People who take Genesis as LITERAL - are idiots.

WE - the jews for whom Moses and Aaron WROTE the the Pentateuch, KNOW and UNDERSTAND it is not literal. We've been studying the Torah for nearly 3000 years in Jewish Culture, trust me, that's not what actually happened.

It was written as simple tales for folks with ZERO education, who could not read nor write, thus the creation story was kept simple so that it could be clearly understood by the tribes of Israel. Rabbi's never took it as literal, because, it clearly was not (as pretty much any thinking person can see). And believe me, Rabbi's LOVE to argue the finest points of both the Torah and the Talmud, and none believe it describes events as they actually happened.

A good example of this is that in the Pentateuch there is never a definition of a "day", so who's to say what a day is to God? Well, along come the Christians with their "Assumptions" and suddenly EVERYTHING happened directly as described.
