...you can draw and quarter me after you read it...

Bambi brings vengeance to Wrath of the Lich King - Joystiq

"Perhaps the vagaries of reality have finally taken hold and you've done it. You've canceled the WoW account. Now you're back together with the Mrs., you've re-memorized all your kids' names, and you've got something that approximates steady work. Life, it would seem, is perfect. Then you heard the siren call of Wrath of the Lich King and – what is this? – you shut it out. Fine ... be strong.

But can you shut out the opportunity to drive your Sword of a Thousand Truths deep into the spotted fur of Bambi's mother? Sure, you cried during Bambi like everyone else did, but can you really resist transforming sweet, innocent Bambi(na) – spotted in Wrath's Northrend – into the crazy-eyed "Vengeful Bambina"? Blizzard's hoping you can't. But what if the kids see what you've done? You'll lose it all! Again!
    "

Maybe WoW would suck less if they tried to make whatever the hell they call their world, you know, a WORLD, instead of an endless stream of pop culture references.

        WTF?

And I'd so have Vengefull Bambina's eyes glowing red.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

11 million people seem to like it but they can't please everyone.

Playing something and liking something are two completely different things.

Liking something and thinking something is good are even farther apart.

Yes, because 11 million people all pay a monthly subscription to a game they don't like.

Don't try and recycle your old bullshit. You came into a WoW thread with the sole purpose to troll and get your fun having yet another pointless 10 page debate that'll end with you being wrong and a harmless, fun post being locked down.

I don't even know why I bother removing you from ignore from time to time when you come up with the same idiotic, argumentative shit.

I dunno I think some of the stuff is kinda funny.
I mean running to toshi station to get power convertrs
or... Doing a quest for Harris Pilton

Sure its pretty weak but it makes it kind of fun. Have you ever played WoW feba? I have, I enjoyed it. Its like the way FFXI should be. Fun not a job away from work. I can play wow and unwind or I can play FFXI and wind up. Its so much more relaxing, there is less stupid people. You don't need to worry about botters or RMT to get decent gear. Its very non stressful unlike FFXI where everything takes hours to do. SE lost me as a customer because they suck with content control, I like mobs that respawn in 2 minutes or less. I like being able to go fight something huge and not have it pop purple to the same group that always gets it. FFXI is teh suck in comparision to the fun level. But meh what do I care I no longer play any MMORPG's, my wife, new daughter and work are more important.

I was actually about to mention the power converter thing, it made me laugh when I was doing the quest.
Feba: Their world is called Azeroth. There is actually a story. Quite a bit of it, too. Its made up of the lore created by the first 3 warcraft games as well as some additional stuff. A lot of the quests build on that lore, and sometimes some of the quests are just for fun and make you laugh while you're doing them.
I'm looking forward to slicing Bambi open at the end of this year.

On this, a typical WoW player that constantly runs endgame knows that Blizzard took the 'Lore' of Azeroth and totally f'ed it in the ass.

Caverns of Time really slaughtered anything the last 3 games built, hell, I've even seen a discussion if WoW is actually set after WarCraft 3 (Like it maintains in the original manual, and when you start playing) or a sort of rewrite on WarCraft 3. I personally believe it's set after, but any game that causes this kind of confusion about basic facts within it's own playerbase is doing something wrong.

Lastly... Death Knight? Totally corrupted undead Paladins that are re-animated with evil intent going around saving the world and doing quests to help the needy? WTF?

                        Re: Ya...a WoW thread....

Um the death Knight is not dead. It is a copy of one of the knights that was betrayed by minions of the lich king. This death knight is his ultimate minion. Hence Wrath of the Lich King. This tells where all the main race questlines go to, including the horde. It is essentially a battle against the most powerful minion of the burning crusade which is the Lich King, and his most powerful minion is the death knight. Not an undead knight, but a corrupted knight. Much the the upper echelon of the scarlet crusade.

Of course if you never played the game, you would not know the story, so obviously will assume.

A little more respect to an excellent story that you do not know might be in order though. (the same thing I tell wow players that do not understand FFXI.)

Actually, this shows that you have never played the WarCraft RTS, which WoW is based on. In WarCraft 2, Death Knights are re-animated Paladins.

In WarCraft 3, The Frozen Throne, Arthas was corrupted by Frostmorne & the previous Lich King but never actually died. He is not a Death Knight.

I suggest you do a little research before trying to discuss a subject.

I actually have played WoW during my time on FFXI, still own the game and occasionally get the urge to play again, I also own Burning Crusade expansion. I also generally keep up to date with WoW as a good friend on mine on FFXI plays WoW casually as I used to and tells me about his running around etc. So, your assumption that I've never played the game was totally baseless.

Again, with the assumptions. I find Blizzard did a very good job with the WarCraft RTS series, only to totally mutilate it with what they have been doing in WoW. Most hardcore WoW players will tell you that the majority of the time, Blizzard don't give a shit about their own Lore when it comes to stuff that's history-spanning. WarCraft 4, on the other hand (If they make one) will hopefully be a true successor to the WarCraft RTS series, leaving WoW to be what it should be treated as: a fun romp through the WarCraft universe on an individual scale (As in, you control one guy, not an army) that is actually set apart from the true history of the WarCraft series.

Mrmageo, you really need to learn to quit while you are ahead.

Yes the corrupted night was a paladin, of the alliance he was corrupted and chose to weild the sword of the lich kin. (it tell most of the story in various library book in the library of the scarlet monastery. It is also told on wow website.) So using the lore we can say he became a death knight. Able to control undead swarms (ironically one of the player abilities...weird) Have you not played enough RPG's to know how the physics of enemies work? He may be descrided one way but the PC will always be able to do it in a similar way. Where the lich kings death knight controls the vast armies of the scourge PC's are able to raise dead and control them (or in the case of PC to PC interaction allows one to play as the undead spirit.)

I did assume you never played the game which ill appologize about, however you are incorrect about your description of the PC death knight. Besides its not going to be a quest machine. You start at 55 you have 25 levels to gain. Should be easy enough to do without touching a quest.

Mr Mageo pauses to wave at his copy of WoW:WOTLK Beta. . .

I don't see how this has any effect on Lore discussion. Most games (Be they RPG or otherwise) have Lore and actual gameplay seperate, otherwise the history of any game would be rather convulted.

I should note that I'm talking about random quests floating around, not the character class quest arcs that are (iirc) required to get (some would say) essental goodies.

The only thing I can do is re-quote myself. If you are unwilling to understand that Blizzard really screw with the WarCraft history/Lore in World of Warcraft as is testimonied by at least two hardcore raiders of Endgame have told me (The one that plays FFXI as well and a RL one whom I've seen his account and talk to him about WoW in general, including Lore/Endgame/Expansions/Quests/What-have-you) then really continuing to discuss this with you is fruitless...
                              (Note the bold)
