Just because Sony and MS rip you off less doesn't mean they aren't still ripping you off.
They're still singular sources of content, and they're still overcharging you at every opportunity. And once you have even less choice (more and more games being released through a single channel) there are going to be more games at higher prices than they should be, and there's not going to be anything you can do about it. They still deny the ability for retailers to discount prices, they deny consumers the ability to use retail discounts (for example, giftcards) on their games (at best, you can spend them on points cards).
