If there's any game this fall with the potential for hilarity and shenanigans, it's Media Molecule and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's LittleBigPlanet. Besides, how could you say no to that face?
The game finally launches in October, and in case you want some content to play on before you start building your levels, have no fear. The game ships with a 60-level fully-fledged story mode, over 50 mini-games, and a ton of tutorials narrated by the great Stephen Fry himself.
Yeah, narrated by Stephen Fry.
This guy.
And then you can start on the Create-Mode and Share-Mode. The game will ship with a wealth of items and accessories for your sackboy or sackgirl, as well as a ton of objects to use in your worlds. Not to mention, you can create stickers out of anything, so just make some textures in Photoshop or something and copy them over to your PS3 to make a totally unique looking level. Not to mention, you can script AI events, cutscenes and boss fights at the touch of a button, and you can even string your levels together with various connecting paths for your own classic-style platforming adventure. 4-player local and/or online play for both Create-Mode and Play-Mode should ensure penty to do with your friends. And there's still one more gameplay element that's yet to be announced....and it's supposed to be big.
Not to mention, the preorder bonuses. There's a LBP-themed Sticker Book, a Brady Games Guide for LBP Beginners, and, best of all, a Nariko Sackgirl and a Kratos Sackboy.
Expect to see more post-launch dev support as well, such as more cool Sony-themed Sackboys and Sackgirls from popular franchises like ICO, Ratchet & Clank, and maybe even some third party characters. They're also working on selling their own real-life Sackboy.
Look for the game this October in stores, it's gonna be tons of fun.
