  • Nintendo DS: What's worth getting?

I'm considering getting a Nintendo DS, primarily for FFTA2. Is this worth it, and if I do get a DS, what other games for it are worth getting?

Ace Attorney. You gotta try at least one Phoenix Wright game.

I'm awful, because I completely neglect my DS. I have something against portables or something.

I bought my DS when the news of CT being ported to it came out, and that's the only reason I got it.

I'm playing FFTA2 right now, and it's a very good game... I have 1 minor issue with it, but it's more me than the game itself. New Super Mario is good, as is Mario Kart, and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass was done incredibly well.

The World Ends With You is fantastic on multiple levels.

I enjoyed the Final Fantasy III release because that was one of the few FF games i never played and i enjoy job systems.

I'll echo praise for The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass.

All the portable Castlevania games are pretty high quality if you are into that style of game.

I'm a big fan of the Mega Man Z series, but those games can be ridiculously challenging.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time was fun.

Then there are any number of N64/snes ports that you could get that are well worth playing.

I personally didn't get a DS until I heard of Pokemon D&P. But whatever your game is, you will not regret getting a DS, believe you me.

Also, people mentioning various DS games but no word of Elite Beat Agents? For shame! D=

EZ Flash V+ and an 8gb micro SDHC....best investment you'll ever make. Of course, if I like a game after I "try" it then I buy it. If not, it gets deleted. If you do decide to get it, PM me.

It really depends on what types of games you enjoy... these are some that i've liked a lot so far.

                Phoenix Wright series

                Mario Kart

                New Super Mario Brothers

Final Fantasy III (FFIV is probably a no brainer as well)

Professor Layton and the Curious Village (worth it if you like puzzle games)

                Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

                Final Fantasy Tactics Advance II

Contra IV (very high difficulty but pretty fun)

There are some others that I have less experience with but are supposedly great games (The World Ends With You, TLoZ: Phantom Hourglass & FFXII: Revenant Wings)

I wouldn't recommend Mega Man ZX to a non Mega Man fan. First off, it's hard, secondly, if you didn't like Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero then you're not going to start liking it now.

Maybe that's because it sucks? Rhythm games that follow the LYRICS instead of THE DAMNED RHYTHM are stupid; especially WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DANCING.

Also, just remembered; if you have a Wii, try the DS download service on the Nintendo channel.

Definitely get "The World Ends with You," it has a crazy good soundtrack, not to mention awesome story and unique play that'll last you many, many hours.
