  • MK vs. DCU: The answer to a fanboy question never asked.

In the midst of all the new game news, I saw an oddity amoungst them:

    Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe

Now, this is interesting because we have a characters from a game where the point is to kill your opponent going up against comic book heros that don't condone killing anyone (no qualms about kicking the crap out of a bad guy, though).

    DC Heros/Villians shown so far:

Superman (Only killed three Kyptonians in an alternate universe, got really emo about it)
    Batman (doesn't kill)
    The Flash (doesn't kill)
Catwoman (Doesn't kill, but doesn't mind leaving you for dead)

    MK Characters so far:

    Scorpion
Lizard (I think that's the green one's name)
    Sonia
    Sheng Tsung

So, will this be the first MK game without fatalities? Given DC characters are a bit more concerned with ethics than Marvel ones, they're going to have to be really creative with this one.

But the could have just done away with the big heros and picked all manner of characters from the DC Universe that don't mind killing people. Lobo, Superboy Prime, Lady Shiva Woosan, Mr. Zsasz, Killer Croc, Bane, Doomsday, the Cyborg, Metallo, Darksied and Sinistro don't seem to have problems killing people. The Joker and Lex Luthor aren't much for mano y mano, too brainy.

Still, I would have much rather seen Capcom do a Marvel vs. DC game. But that seems like an opportunity long passed so now we have Midway doing MK Vs. DCU.

Hello, Friendship? Babality? There's more to do to a stunned opponent than finish him off.

And I think you're referring to Chameleon. They have so many ninjas and ninja robots that their names are a little difficult to keep track of. Scorpian and Sub Zero are a given, Cyrax and ???, and then there's Smoke, but I'm not sure if he has a robot look-a-like, and the green one is the newest if I remember correctly.

Don't you mean Reptile? It was definitely Reptile in the first three games, dunno what it was after that.

Another question is how are they going to make some DC characters who cant be hurt by normal means weak enough to be hurt. I saw some screen shots of Superman vs. Sonia and that wouldnt be a real fight but more like a massacre. Unless they give every character in MK vs. DCU kryptonite gloves.
