  • Xbox live Downloadable M content

Ok so i have a problem
When i registerd my Xbox live account i was 16. And thus was how i registerd my age. It has been over a year. so i am now 17. the age to buy M games is 17 is it not?

There are no/ have not been any parental locks on my 360. Every thing is set to enable. A menu has not be turned over that isnt enabling me to do whatever the hell i want on live or off. No filters are on. etc.
but why the heck cant i download M rated games??!!

When trying to download anything rated M i get a message saying "This user is not permitted to dowload content with this rating" or something very similar to that.

Would anyone happen to know the reason or what ican do to change it?
Please dont respond with check your settings becuase i swear to you everything is exactly as it should look.(and another note i am not currently at home now, nor will i be for almost another week, just figured id ask now and maybe have the solution when i get back home)

Yeup and all that does is tell me about the different settings that i can change on my 360. Which none of it needs to be changed cause like i said.. all games are enabled. no parental locks. NOTHING is disabled. which is why i mention when i and how i made my xbox live ID becuase ITS NOT MY SETTINGS. It has to be the way/age i registerd. I want to know if there is a way to change that. Or a way to stop it.
However this is something that i cought...

Now i know mine is on allow.. but allow doesnt say anything about whether or not it can dowload any rated game. while this one says only those approved by your console settings.
And on my content settings i have checked that they ALL say enable for each type of rating.

I would not have changed this. And if i did i would have changed it back cause that would be the problem...but seeing as how i KNOW its set to allow all games it isnt the source of the problem.

(going away from all computers for a week starting tonight so any responses i wont be able to see till im finaly back at home.)

        1. Go to My Xbox and open your profile.
        2. Select Manage Account.
        3. Select Promote Child Account. Note

This option is available on child accounts only after the owner has reached the age of adulthood.
        4. Follow the steps to promote your child account

Also keep in mind that even though the age on the box is 17, plenty of places won't allow people under 18 at M-rated content for some reason. You'll see it with video sites, for one-- even if 17 is old enough to buy it, they're too lazy to change it from '18' for 'inappropriate' videos.
