Not being a smartass here at all but....you really don't find a lot of games that you like do you? Yes that is super picky and no thats not a bad thing at all. I wish I were more picky because I'd save a shit ton of money. But then again addiction doesn't know those bounds. lol

No there won't be a darn thing for you on the PS3 for a while I'm sure. With the current climate to, it could be a while before you get that perfect game. I fear for our industry lately with the way things are going and the way they are just cranking out things left and right to make money.

          Re: PS3 Games?

Actually it will be there long because it's a stage based on Ico, not a direct copy like the Mario/Sonic ones that got taken down and not filled with image rips like many other games that got deleted.

And the God of War level got yanked because of the human sacrifice parts rather then the copywrite infringement parts. Basically you just have to avoid Nintendo stuff (as they're the only ones who really complained) and licensed images (i.e. pics and logos of exact characters) and you'll be fine. The Ico level doesn't contain any of them, but it's obvious what it's based on.

It's also why all the music stages are still around. MM will only delete things people report or things other companies *cough*nintendo*cough* complain about.

Not really, no. My personal library is actually very small compared to that of my siblings or even my boyfriend, who seem to buy anything, even if it's not really 'buy' material.

I borrow from them (hey, they wasted the money, I'll just take advantage) to try out some things, but very seldom do I end up buying anything after playing it out of their library, mostly because it wasn't worth it. Like TFU. Fun game. Once. A rental, not a buy. So I just bummed it off of them.

And with said small library, the games I actually like and replay out of it is smaller still. KotOR, ME, Dragon Quest V, assorted Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing games, Dynasty Warriors shit b/c I'm an addict.... that kind of thing.

I am excited about Dragon Age, though. But that game is for-fucking-ever away...

I used to never buy anything either, as I would beat most titles I rented within 2-3 days. As such I'd only buy anything with major replay value.

But lately there's been a lot of good releases over the past year and they're just getting better so yay ^_^ great time to be a gamer.

Yep this is what happens to me. It's basically like Blockbuster over here between my games and DVD's. I've actually had to keep a clipboard near my cases to jot down who has what because stuff is all over. I learned my lesson when I borrowed out all of my Sopranos and 24's and they never came back. I'm a lot pickier who I borrow games to though.

That reminds me, I still need to get my copy of Lunar back from my friend.

He still hasn't touched it and it's been like a month or so now so TS, I want it back. That game is too damned hard to come by.

If you say so, but according to sony:

Ico is a brand that you do not own the rights to, and I think MM or Sony will more than likely remove it. But im just pessimistic.

That clause is typically there so that they can cover themselves against lawsuits or other unpleasantness from other IP holders.

Sony owns the Ico IP; and while technically the end user has no right to use Ico, or God of War, or any other Sony franchise as a stepping stone for their work, it would be very much not in Sony's interest to object unless the usage is objectionable (defamatory, etc.).

I would place high odds on any Sony-owned IP-based content in LBP to stay up.

Sorry for the slight necro, don't know if anyone mentioned this one yet, but rent (buy if your have the extra $$) Heavenly Sword. Similar in playstyle to God Of War, but with a badass chick. Graphics are great, game play is, for the most part, spot on, and it's challenging as hell in some spots. It keeps the game fresh by switching between Nariko and Kai (who uses a badass crossbow) in different chapters. My only real gripe with the game was how short it is; hence my recommendation to rent. One could easily sit down and play through the story in 6-8 hours. Tops.

Still, guaranteed to give you a weekend's worth of fun.

Again, the God of War level got axed for content reasons, not IP infringment reasons. As long as people avoid Nintendo based stages, or direct images ripped from other sources, things will most likely stay up.

I heard great things about that game too, but won't get it for full price due to how short it is. Mirror's Edge seems to be the same way in that its an incredible game..but incredibly short. Still, could always pick em up used if you look long enough.

I have to agree that Dead Space is a good game, but the camera is a headache. Having your character permanently at the far left side of the screen bugs the hell out of me and I can never play it longer than 10-15 minutes before my head starts to hurt -_-

I have both Heavenly Sword and Mirror's Edge. Heavenly Sword is indeed very short. It didn't really scratch my God of War itch - the controls worked well enough, but the combat system was surprisingly passive, which was an unpleasant surprise. Sitting back and defending in hopes of getting a good counterattack was often more effective than just wading in, blades flashing, and for a game of that type, that was a pretty fatal flaw, no matter how cool the combos got.

I'd say Heavenly Sword is definitely more of a rental than a buy, unless you can buy a copy for a very low price (sub-$20). I'm not unhappy with my release day $60 purchase because of the great production values, but you can quite likely finish the main game in a weekend of extremely sparing play time.

Mirror's Edge I've barely scratched the surface of. It took me 3 hours to pass the first three chapters (out of 20), so I don't really think it's as short as people are suggesting (granted, probably 1 hour of that was learning curve for figuring out how to move around properly and make good use of things like wallrunning and kick-rebounding).

Unless you've got lots of spare time over the course of several days, I don't think a single rental will get you through Mirror's Edge unless you've got preternaturally good reflexes.
