Inafune worried about recouping next-gen Mega Man cost - Joystiq
If it were up to Inafune, we would've had a Legends 3 already.
Also, it's about damned time, although I guess a Mega Man 9 means I'll be blue-balled for a while waiting for Mega Man ZX 3.

Re: Mega Man 9
as much as us MEga-fans want a Mega man 9 and or a link to the X series.....
I call BS/wishful thinking on this -.-
if they did a Mega Man 9 (not that I hate 8bit, hell I grew up on it) it would not be 8-bit style -.-
at most it would look like MegaMan 8 or something-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Mega Man 9
If the source is reliable (I'm not saying it is or isn't) he was probably using 8-bit metaphorically in conjunction with the adjective "retro." It's obviously not going to be 8-bit if it's going to be a major title.
Also, Capcom really needs to freaking translate the art books. There's like two Mega Man X art books, which are the ones that confirm that Legends comes way after the X series (and consequently Zero and ZX series.)

You know thats one thing I always wondered, where Legends came in time wise, never bother to really look though.

Re: Mega Man 9
Yeah, that's what I've read. Mega Man Zero 2 had two stages which were ruins in Neo Arcadia, and they had Reaverbot eyes or something very similar to Reaverbot eyes in the background. Legends must come a really freaking long time after ZX, though, since there's hardly any androids in the Legends series, and there's no signs of an epic flood happening in the near future of the ZX series yet.
Also, I can't help but wonder what the heck happened to Cyber Elves after the Zero series.

Re: Mega Man 9
Actually, I believe the cause was that Lan Hikari won the Nobel Prize for networking/navi technology instead of Light getting it for robotics. But I seriously doubt Legends is an alternate universe. It's Inafune's favorite series, and those ruins in MMZ2 are too strong a coincidence. There's also very strong similarities between Refractor Shards and Mega Man Zero/ZX's Energy Crystals.
EDIT: Also, the Guardian Base airship in Mega Man ZX bears a strong resemblance to the Flutter's design.
EDIT2: In ZX: Advent, there's an organization called the Hunters which work to recover technology that was lost during the war or Maverick raids, and there are Raiders which sell these artifacts in the black market. It's very similar to Diggers and Pirates in Legends. The X/Zero/ZX universe has also seen several energy crises already, as well as the most geographical changes due to Eurasia Colony incident in X5, the Maverick/Elf Wars throughout the X series and the events in Zero 4. The secret ending in ZX: Advent also leaves room for the ZX series culminating in the world-resetting flood, although it's a bit of a long shot.Last edited by Armando; 06-21-2008, 10:16 PM.
