    Nintendo sues Nyko over their wireless nunchuck.

    Nintendo sues Nyko over Kama Wireless Nunchuck - Nintendo Wii Fanboy

    Nyko spokesperson C.C. Swiney told Bloomberg that they do not believe that they have violated Nintendo's patents with the Kama, but that they are "still examining this." We've had a look at both controllers ourselves, and we think they're actually pretty different. If you look closely at the Nintendo Nunchuk, you can see that it has a cord coming out of it.
    (Emphasis mine, because that's just an awesome quote)


    I suppose the main reason Nintendo is upset about this is because it's the first third-party controller that was actually a better option than the first party one for many people. Although I have to assume they have their own on the way.

    lol I mean if they could never sue when these people made third-party controllers in the first place how can they sue when a thid-party one makes one better? Meh, this is just case and point to the fact that we have become a sueing nation. How dare you have a great idea before us~! I'll Sue YOU~!

      Well, no, this is pretty much exactly what trademarks and patents exist for. And I'm sure Nintendo has been thinking about wireless nunchucks before any of us had a clue what the hell a nunchuk was; I mean, it is sort of obvious.

        They're mad that someone took the idea and ran with it, and probably made a cheaper controller than they could.

          Isn't it like when Nintendo sues for that chip some old games needed to work on the older systems, or did I get mixed up again. Been too long since I read about it.

              It might be because they just got sued by that Texas company for the Gamecube controllers. Trying to make up for lost money?
