Re: Activision ensures that nobody that actually likes music buys Guitar Hero

See, even Sony's PR stunts I don't mind that much. Are they stupid? Hell yes, it's amazing that company has survived past PS9 with the marketing skills it has now. But they aren't disrespectful and insulting.

A lot of business owners didn't care for the PSP graffiti that sprung up. Advertising is fine and all, but defacement of public and private property is not.

Odd, Sony said they had paid people for permission to use their property. If they did vandalize (be it simply not getting permission, the artists being reckless and marking places that should have been crossed off the list, or some other way) then yeah, that's wrong too.

I was more referring to the dead goat and the Black/White PSP stuff.

That stuff was tasteless but at least involved the proper channels for advertising.

Of course there is, just like everything else.

Edit: BTW, saying 'now' is incorrect, there always has been.

Now now now, any one with half a brain can see that the only memorials that are held sacred are ones to people or groups who are currently popular.

It would be a national outrage to defile a Vietnam memorial, but try to get the same response destroying a Confederate one.

There would be a witch hunt to find people who knocked over the headstones of fallen soldiers in Northern France, no one would care if you did it to a Nazi officers grave.

There would be cries for blood if a group of students spray painted a 9/11 monument, but there would be nothing but silence if they did that very same thing to a Medicine Tree on a reservation.

How outraged people become is not an indicator of how wrong something is.

It's wrong, we just don't care because we're so jaded from Acclaim's crap that we don't even turn our heads anymore when a publisher does something abhorrent for attention.

Right and wrong are moral ideas. Morals change with every person and group. So yes, it is an indicator of how wrong it is held to be.

                            Post count padding 101.

                            Or should that be +1?

Gee, we better put a stop to that before someone defrauds us of all our valuable post count-related prizes. Why, the legitimacy of our entire post count contest is called into question! D:

It'd be nice to read through a thread without every second post being from one of two people but I guess it all depends on who those two people are.
