Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is holding a new event tomorrow called PlayStation Day. Similar to Sony Gamer's Day in North America or PlayStation Premiere in Japan, this is one of the annual events that each Sony district features in the absence of the "real" E3. During the Event, SCEE plans to reveal "key content that will be hitting PLAYSTATION 3, PlayStation 2, and PSP in 2008."
New footage of KILLZONE 2 will be present. Guerrilla Games have said they want to recreate the now-infamous 2005 E3 trailer in playable form.
Big-hitters like RESISTANCE 2 and KILLZONE 2 are both confirmed to make major appearances; the former will be playable by the press for the first time. Also expect to see titles like WipEout HD, METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots, LittleBigPlanet, and MOTORSTORM 2.
Insomniac Games' RESISTANCE 2 will likely steal the show, with its two massive single-player and 8-player co-op campaigns and 60-player online battles.
SCEI CEO Kazuo Hirai and Sony CEO David Reeves will be present at the event to make keynote speeches unveiling the next direction the PlayStation brand will go in 2008 and beyond.
For the first time, PS3 owners will get to see Evolution's MOTORSTORM 2: Pacific Rift in action.
I'll be updating the thread as new info breaks out; expect to see new details and ship dates on already announced titles and, hopefully, a few big announcements. Projects like The Getaway, Twisted Metal, White Knight Chronicle, SOCOM: Confrontation, inFamous and RATCHET: Quest for Booty have been under the radar for a while but are sure to pop up soon.
