They didn't "try" anything. They had a feature in the game, and they removed it. They didn't bother removing the code, and then people who KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY wanted to unlock it were able to use means of questionable legality at best to see it. Nobody was ever supposed to see that content.

well my first thoughts after about an hour of playing, this game is disgusting (in a good way). Good voice acting, great graphics (even on my shitty non HD TV.), the six axis control is pretty wicked too. So far the story is pretty sweet and I imagine it can only get better. The only downfall is I want to try online but it wont connect, I am assuming the servers may not be up yet (or perhaps it is an unlockable feature). If anyone else has been able to get online let me know if there is something I need to do to set it up please and thank you.

Servers were sort of working last night. Some people are having problems connecting to others, but the exact cause isn't known, but I was able to join a friend's game (and vice versa) in Free Mode. Whereupon we stole a helicopter and rampaged through town for an hour.

It looks like Rockstar is having a few issues with the PS3's multiplayer portion and a few people are experiencing difficulties logging into the network. From what I played so far it ran beautifully when it did connect.

Is it just me, or have there not been any major game releases so far this year that haven't had SOME huge problem (relatively speaking) at release?


I mean, I understand that games are getting larger and more complex, but come on. Just because you can patch it doesn't mean your first week of sales is a goddamn Beta test.

It's more just a matter of not being prepared for the launch of such a huge game, not launching the game with a gamebreaking bug or anything. Personally I don't understand how Rockstar wasn't aware that GTA4 would be a huge release and hundreds of thousands of people would be playing online on day one...it's quite possibly the biggest game release in history and there's not really an excuse to not anticipating huge traffic.

ya oh well there is plenty of game to play otherwise (still getting used to some ingame systems) so I guess I can wait a little longer. Better it works right the first time instead of sketchy.

Negative. If that's the case, then I'm glad I'm not buying it yet. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne just got a reprint and my money is better spent there.

AMEN TO THAT! Awesome game...just got FES the other day. It's a good time to be a gamer but its also bad. Too many damn games to choose from!

Some, but not many. I haven't had any issues, and a lot of 360 and PS3 owners I know haven't either. Bear in mind there's probably at least 4 million copies of the game out there right now; I'd be shocked if at least some of them didn't have an issue.

Reprint, is it Greatest Hits? I had a lapse in sanity one time and sold that game. Altlus reprinting anything for US distribution is almost unheard of!

I must get it back in my collection!

Yeah, it's a reprint, but it doesn't include the soundtrack. Showed up on Play-Asia a couple weeks ago for $47.99, now it's on Amazon for $39.99. There are rumours going around that Digital Devil Saga got a very ninja-like reprint in the last few months, as a surprising number of used copies have been showing up at Gamestop stores recently.

They did it for Disgaea: Hour of Darkness last year, but it is surprising to see them reprint a MegaTen game.
