Uh, I hate to be the one to break this to you Malacite, but GameStop warned you that quantities were limited.

How do I know? Because I pre-ordered my MGS4 at GameStop as well, and I got an automated call from them reminding me that the discs would be coming in the next day, and to make sure to pick up my copy (which I did).

If you tuned them out or didn't give them a phone number where they could reach you, then you've got no one to blame but yourself...


P.S. What $30 MGS bundle? The beta codes were supplied to pre-orders on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, not for the Metal Gear 1/2/3 bundle.

When I asked EB about it, they were completely fucking clueless about the beta altogether! They didn't even know about it existed/was coming. And they have my number. To buy anything from them they ask you to register in their customer system so they got my phone number. I just got called today about my Mario Kart Pre-order.

And thank you captain obvious, I bought the bundle because I wanted MGS 1-3. I already knew the beta was for MGS4, but you might have caught on to that if you'd been paying attention.

Um no, it's not just the beta. It's the exclusive movie content on that disc. And it's the 2nd or 3rd time now that they've screwed me out of something I want. I'm just going to start using my credit card to order off company websites. To hell with the middle man.

Yes, Gamestop is notorious for doing that. As for getting the phone calls for pre-orders, that rarely happens for me. I buy a lot of games and I pre-order quite a few. The bad thing is that I just don't remember what I pre-order half the time. (Old age, too busy, lots of stress, whatever excuse insert it here...) Gamestop is supposed to call you and let you know when the game is going to be in the store...<start sultry voice> Hi, this is Aeres from Gamestop.... Well, I get those calls about 20% of the time for my pre-orders. I pre-ordered MGS4 also and didn't receive any call about the bonus discs being in, I just got lucky and happened to be in the mall and stopped in. The guys know me and asked if I had gotten my disc yet. Total luck or I'd probably be in the same shoes as Mal and damn pissed too.

Then there's all that crap about them showing the endings to games in their stores to boot.

They're damned lucky (or at least they were until now) that other retailers like Best Buy and Futureshop both charge more than they do.

I always, always get a call from GameStop when my pre-orders are due to arrive (I've pre-ordered over a dozen titles from them in the past year, and have gotten a call every single time).

Besides, stop fretting so much over the MGO beta. It's still rough around the edges. The gameplay is pedestrian, the artwork is bland, and the process of getting that retarded Konami ID is silly.

As for the collector's DVD, I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who will part with it at some point. There's tons of them out there.

I'm glad the automated alert works where you are but not here. It sure would save me a LOT of headaches if it did. I'm actually leaning towards pre-ordering from the website.

If he has a receipt then I don't think he'll have an issue getting the actual CE. I think he's just irritated about not getting the bonus DVD and not solely for the beta. I am a collector and I would be raising quite the stink if I had not gotten mine.

QFT. It's the principal of the thing Ice. I absolutely fucking HATE this ASSHOLE CITY of OTTAWA @_@ god! I can not wait to move south of the border... EB/Gamestop are of course run by the local retards around here (of which there are far too many for my liking on top of everything else that bugs me here) and I'm really just sick of being screwed over repeatedly by stupid retailers and their employees.


Why the hell their system didn't have the Special Edition of MGS4, or why there was no knowledge of the beta mere days before the website made it public is beyond me. Aren't these guys supposed to be notified of this shit in advance?

Oh wait, that's assuming they run a working operation.

lol there are more retards per capita in the usa then in canada. You should just move somewhere decent in canada. Like a small town. I know in my town the EB games here always calls me regarding pre orders, hell they call me when they get info on a game they know im itching to know about. It pays to know everyone in a town sometimes.

it's not like I expect it to be a paradise or anything (far from it) but believe me, I have plenty of reason to move south of the border. There just aren't as many opportunities here as there are in the states. Everyone is so cynical and holier-than-thou here it's sickening too, just a total rat race...

I guess I just want to try something different. All I have are fond memories of the times I've spent across the border (with family) and all my Dad's stories. Just waiting for Bush to get out of office (and hopefully put on trial...) and see where Barack takes the nation.
