If we don't like something, collectively, if our hatred for it throbs like an abscess beneath every thread, does that mean that they're doing something right?

Re: FF7 Remake: Should SE Rewrite it?

now that ive finally beaten the game (and read every post on this thread) i will finally put in my two cents.

i thought CC did a good job at telling you the story behind FF7. it did get monotonous with the constant pressing of the x button, but to be able to witness the final scene(after the whole fighting a bunch of grunts thing fight(seriously what was that about?)) was totally worth it. i also enjoyed how they put the opening scene to FF7 in there at the end. but thats just me

now onto what this thread was originally started for. should they rewrite FF7 now that CC has been released and we know the story now.

      MY OPINION: yes and no.

i say yes so that we can refresh ourselves with what happened. personally i would MUCH rather play the game then read a summary of it. you dont get to see the cutscenes and experience the game like its meant to be experienced. i think they should update the graphics so the current generation can experience this awesome game, cuz we all know they aint gonna pay attention to FF7 original graphics. as far as updating the summons to have thier own cutscenes, no. Knights of the Round already took a long time to show, i dont think Ifrits needs to be as long as it was in CC.

i say no because when someone says Rewrite, im thinkin they are going to actually redo the story, characters, and plot. if they did i would probablly spam hate mail to SE for this and more than likely not buy another FF game again. but thats just my opinion. i also say no because the game was awesome, and still is to me, in its original form. yes i would like to see the Characters hair flowing like in CC. yes i would like to see every knob and dial on the train as cloud comes into the station. however, we must realize that we fell in love with the original. not a remake.

with that being said, however, the part of me that is always looking for better graphics and smoother gameplay wins.

as for FFX-2, didnt get past the first chapter i thought it was that bad. i didnt see how a summoner on a pilgrimage went on to become a trio girl band.

as for FF12, i unfortunately have not beaten it but am in the process of it. so far though i thought the game has been good, even if i am only half way through. FFXI has taken up most of my gameplay time.

well i think that about covers it. just to remind you all, THIS IS MY OPINION. DONT BLAST ME FOR WHAT I THINK IS A GOOD GAME OR NOT. different people have different views, in case you didnt know.

They need to rewrite FFVII just to reflect all the changes that were made to the world in Crisis Core. Not to mention something should be in the works to finish Genesis' and Weiss' story arcs.

There is >.> they're obviously making another FF7 based game as hinted by DoC's secret ending.
