Last Order was terrible, and I'm pretending it never existed. SOLDIER members wearing ShinRa guard uniforms, and wielding katanas? ShinRa guard members firing M16s? Did they decide to add more Turk members for fun? I think the only accurate message you can take away from that movie is that niether hand attempted to work with the other which is what caused a majority of the problems.

Crisis Core is nice, but I'm playing on Hard Mode and I'm tired of seeing bosses with 100,000+ HP. The fights are so lengthy sometimes. I haven't finished the game yet, but so far I've been left with a lot of questions.

I could definately use some spoiler discussion when I'm done.

Dak: SOLDIER members ... where? As far as I know the ShinRa Guards/Army were after Zack and Cloud and the weapons they are using, machine guns (dunno if they were M16s but I guess you just used the term to define them) and the swords (I didn't see katanas. Zack's primary weapon pre-Buster Sword was a similar sword).

By the way, I agree, extra Turk members that we don't see in FF7 along with a ton of more crap added in Crisis Core to those scenes will confuse you even more. You'll wish Crisis Core never existed after that too I bet

Perhaps it was a bad translation, but Zack referred to a few of the ShinRa guards attacking him as SOLDIER members. I assumed the ones with swords were SOLDIER and the ones with guns were just gaurds. As far as I know guards have only guns and batons.

Very good point, now that you mention it. Guards do infact only use guns. It is only SOLDIER that use swords.

However, now that I think about it, I won't spoil it for you, but there's a reason why some of them were SOLDIER people. I think what I have in assumption is correct.

My only beef with the game thus far (I'm on chapter 10/11) has been the DMW.

Yes it's cool, but I would have thought SE had learned their lesson with FF2 about random stat leveling. That and the missions are insanely repetitive. Find the mob that's just standing in the field, engage, kill, repeat for next missions. Seriously what the hell? Thank GOD some of the mini games (like the one in chapter 10... I won't spoil it but trust me it's great) are at least entertaining.

And wtf I don't remember Sephiroth having cat eyes >. >

DMW is severely disruptive, as with the limit breaks. By the time it's all pulled off I could've won already and moved on.

Not sure what this mini game is, I look forward to it. Nearly there myself.

Side note, because I'm getting extremely frustrated with the missions (I find myself avoiding all fights), what level do I need to be, minimum, to beat the game? I'm currently Level 26. Is that even sufficient?

Zack is the SOLDIER hero, I doubt they would give up on him so quickly. The guards on the other hand have proven otherwise.

I think the game could have been a bit more concise. I'm hoping they'll explain the difference between Genesis and Angeal clones. Genisis' badassery translated well into his clones, while Angeal's were all caught in the wild somewhere.

Uematsu left Square after FFXI. The last thing he did as a token to SE was the intro piece for FF12. It's a god damn shame too

Slight chance at spoiler if you havnt read previuos posts.

I know the story, and I know Zack dies. But he said it before I got a chance to see it! That drives me mad!

By telling me that he ruined it for you, you have thused ruined it for me -.-.
You told him that he spoiled it.... it was put into a spoiler alert button and then you said it again... therefore TGM was wrong and people still siffer that dont/DIDNT know the story.
Im severly dissapointed. and now.. i have just done the exact same thing..well..maybe not.. im gonna try to see if i can fit all this in one huge spoiler even though it may not be a spoiler...

And I to im discouraged by the DMW. i have 9% done so far(or so it says when im looking at the missions menu) and im trying to get all my spells levels up but the wrong ones always level. Im currently level 17.
The DMW isnt BAD... its just id like more consistency/control. When i want to get my only lvl 1 spell to match my lvl 4 spells i should be able to do it without lots of luck.
And its always hard for me choosing equipment especially with only two slots. Does this ever change?

(1) Why would someone get upset about spoiling an aspect of a prequel when they had playing the original that told of the events and knew what was going to happen?

If I play a game called The Empire Strikes Back, I pretty much know what I'm in for. I'll find out the Empire is making another Death Star, Luke gets his hand cut off by Vader, finds out Vader is his father and that Han Solo is cryogenically frozen and hauled off to Jabba the Hutt by Boba Fett.

(2) Why would you play Crisis Core without having played FFVII first? Did we need to feel included in the conversation? Its not like there aren't billion copies of this game used all over the earth. There's even an OVA that Crisis Core was based on you can find all over the internet now.

Just take out the extra spaces next to the brackets. Its not hard, people. There's a little button on the bottom row of with a little word bubble that says "spoil" on it. Highlight the spoiler and press the spoiler button. It just takes a small amount of brain power.

(4) Stop blasting SE for not including Uematsu in the series. Uematsu left to persue his own interests and now participates in the franchise at his own leisure and if it interests him. Yoshitaka Amano's involvement has been the same way since FFVII. There's tons of musical talent left at SE, it may not have been represented well in Crisis Core but that doesn't mean Uematsu has to be involved until he keels over.

I mean, really, if you're hard up for a Uematsu fix, you can pick up some Mistwalker games, he happens to be involved with those to a degree as well.

Because you might be of a younger generation and had not played FFVII yet. So possibly, after all the forum hype about how they should re-release FFVII on the PS3, you'd like to play them in order. More likely is that you'd like to play FFVII but you are too spoiled by new age graphics that you can't bear to play it so CC will just have to do. LOL

Playing them in order:

Shameless cash-in > crappy episodic cell phone game > Good RPG that is not as awesome as people would have you believe > Good CG movie > mediocre shooter with decent fleshing out of the coolest cast member.

If we're going solely on graphics:

Quit gaming, you'll probably miss out on 90% of the good ones anyway.

It is odd that SE took it out of print right around the release of Advent Children, but there really are so many copies out there I find it to be bullshit that people would even think a copy of the game was worth $100.

I'm content to wait for the remake, whenever it happens.

Point remains, people are picking this game to feel included in all the talk of FFVII. They're still going to be out of the loop if they didn't play the original.
