Kinda crappy that there's no 80gb version total lack of backwards compatibility kinda sucks, ofcourse they'd probably charge 700 for that one.
Still, 600...yikes. Aren't the regular 40gb versions 400 now?

I'm afraid after playing this game (going to get it along with GTA IV and a Dual shock3) I might lose my will to play games.

I mean what else would be left to do after the final cradits roll?

I doubt I'll get such expectations for a game anytime soon (if ever again). A PS3 Zone of the Enders or Half Life 3 would rank at probably 30% the expectations I have for this one, and XIII is probably at 20%.

Why does it have to end?





Then again, I rather see it end than seeing it go down the same path the Matrix did. <_<;

It's going to be the most bittersweet experience in my gaming history. On one hand I'll be finishing the greatest game ever made. On the other I'll be saying goodbye to the greatest series ever made.

I agree, it's simply impossible for any game in the future, even one made by Kojima, to ever come close to the anticipation that I've had for this one. We know ZOE3 is coming but it's just not the same.

Ya, no more Snake just doesn't seem possible. I don't know how excited I'll be about another Metal Gear without him. It's like your favorite show losing the main character but keeps going on. Like Stargate losing Richard Dean Anderson and the show kept going. It just wasn't the same.

Further METAL GEAR titles won't be the same, and rightfully so. This is the end of Solid Snake, the end of METAL GEAR SOLID, and the end of Kojima's place in the director's chair.

Then again that's probably because I hate ER, and get off the goddamn TV, old people.

Anyway, Paipai, it's Kojima. I'm sure he can continue to make amazing games. And without MGS constantly lurking around him, he'll have more freedom (not to mention time) to actually work on those concepts and make them as great as MGS is.

I would like to know how the hell they can say this. It's a video game magazine; for PlayStation. How many of their staff has never played an MGS before? And if they do, why the hell are they hiring those people? If neither of the above, how the hell can they let people outside magazine staff play their review (prerelease) copy? It's a huge blow to their credibility any way I look at it.

...About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think.

That probably means he won't direct it however. I do expect them to still end the METAL GEAR SOLID series here though and start something new. Even still, Metal Gear without Kojima directing is just not the same. No one can emulate his unique philosophy on gameplay, writing and humour.


The Dutch OPM just released their review. It contained some spoilers which I skipped over but here's a few snippets, translated by Guled on NeoGAF:

- Cutscenes are amazing, they especially mention the ending epilogue which is (literally translated) brainbreaking.

- The story goes about a choise between the systematical 'force to' (couldn't find a better word to translate this (opleggen)) order or to keep the free will in every individual citizen or soldier.

- They think MGS4 is a bullseye as a game. GTAIV may have a longer playability, Assassins Creed may have better graphics but on many aspects MGS4 is coming out. The suspense of the story, the perfect controls, the amazing sound directions and of course the emotion, it's hard to find all this in one game.
