My peeve is people complaining about the game's popularity, and being so bothered by other people's choices/preferences.

Didn't like it? Don't like it? Don't like people liking it? Bored of people trying to be like the characters?

Who cares, just ignore them, forget about it and move on.


That bitching time would be better spent complaining about really important things like all that people who likes dubbed anime. Now that's something worth complaining about.

Kinda hard to do that when:

• They're in every MMO with lame variations of an FFVII character's name.
• When you try to hold an intelligent discussion about RPGs and someone has to come in and proclaim FFVII the best ever.
• When you're a fan of video game music remixes and go to OCremix.org. and 75% of the fucking time there's a new FFVII remix or some new lame new YouTube "tribute" that comes up when you search "Final Fantasy" and its ALWAYS accompanied by some whiny Linkin Park shit, usually "In the End."
• When they keep making new FFVII games/movies.

The fact that it won't die.

The fact that people keep asking for a remake when so many other games would benefit so much more from one (Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana...)

That and how many people treat it like it was some epic, flawless masterpiece that was an out-of-this-world orgasmic experience to play through.

Same exact thoughts here. I think FF7 was an above average game, but it still wasn't a spectacular game like the first two Lunar games, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, etc.

Actually, I'd love to see SE come through with a PS3 remake like they did with that tech Demo, but other than that people could seriously stand to tone it down with the praise/hype of the game.

And Lunar was totally epic ^^ it's too bad the company that ported it over went out of business ; ;

I loved FF7, still do, but I just can't stand the people who promote it like it's the Bible.


As for the game itself, my only major gripe was the LifeStream bit. That part just dragged on waaaaaay too long without any kind of break (save point tyvm SE?)

Finally, just the fact that its praised as the greatest RPG ever when there were a lot of other ones infinitely more deserving of such a title.

As to remakes, I'd much rather see FF9 remade than FF7. It's probably the least successful of the franchise, but I've heard nothing but good things of it (ignoring the sin that is it's instruction manual)

As to annoyances, gas chamber scene. FUCK YOU RANDOM GUARDS THAT KEEP ME FROM EVER MANAGING TO GET PAST THAT POINT AND THUS RUINED MY ENTIRE GAME BECAUSE BARRET JUST SO HAPPENED TO BE A BIT TOO WEAK TO MAKE IT THROUGH THAT SECTION.

Earthbound was infinitely better than FF7. I'd rather play through it again 100 times if it was remade.


As for what annoyed me about FF7, was that FF7:DoC wasn't even needed. Did we really care about an optional character? Do we care why he's emo? And on that matter, why is he emo over something as stupid as that shit? Also, WHERE THE HELL DID DEEPGROUND COME FROM AND WHY DID THEY NOT SIMPLY TAKE OVER MIDGAR IN FF7?!

Necro, but I guess it's not too bad.

I just started playing Earthbound, and let me just say how much I hate the first-person view battling and the lack of ATB. One thing is for the turns to be set in stone but randomness in turns AND randomness in mob behavior leads to a lot of frustration and wasted resources.
