It's $219.99 here plus tax. I can buy a 300~600 GB HDD for my PC for that much. GTFO Microsoft.

Question if I do ever change out my HDD on my ps3:
Are firmware updates stored on the hdd or somewhere else? If i change it out will it have to update again? I know you'd lose everything you might have downloaded from the store and what have you, but does that include the mandatory updates?

Firmware updates are stored on the system memory. You won't lose them, nor will you lose game-specific updates.

If you connect a USB HDD, you can back up all your files before switching out your internal 2.5'' drive.

I bought a 200GB internal drive for my PS3 last spring, cost me about $140.

Can I do the same with the 360? Or am I forced into buying MS's bull shit? I want to get a 360 and FFXI for it, but 8 GB is a lot to dedicate to a game when you only have 20 total...

The difference, however, is that the PS3 can use any 2.5" SATA HDD.

In other words, don't tick it off, or it'll "accidentally" MPK you.

Yeah, I assumed no one in the right mind would buy a standalone drive, unless they enjoyed getting price-raped. The fact that the HD-DVD drive sells for less than the 120GB HDD is pretty absurd.

I would imagine, as HD-DVD starts drawing its last breaths, that they start throwing in the HD-DVD drives with the 360 elites. Might as well do something with them. Otherwise they'll just rot on the shelves.

No, they're not discontinued. The Core was discontinued and replaced with the Arcade SKU.

And yeah, it's bullshit that Microsoft hasn't realigned their Canadian pricing as Sony has done, considering there's almost no difference at this point.

I thought any external HDD (usb) would work on the 360... I know MP3 CD's work just fine...

Currently enjoying the starting level of Uncharted... it's alot of fun. Nothing too terribly hard yet though. The only thing that I'm feeling is wrong, is this controller, is like 1000lbs too light, it feels like a cheap piece of crap to me.
