The only of the listed systems I have are the DS and Wii, and nothing interesting. Has Mario and Sonic @ the Olympic Games for the DS been released yet?

Eww. Are you seriously saying you're interested in such a blatant cash-grab piece of shovelware?

I know the Wii doesn't have the best software library in the universe, but surely you can find something else more amusing in the DS lineup, at least.

Orange Box (5 games in one for $60? {Yes, please.}), and Unreal III if I can find it. Read a few articles that made it sound like it wasn't going to be the easiest thing to get your hands on this holiday season. The 1UP Show seemed to think the PS3 version of Unreal III will be successful where the PC version hasn't been, and that a keyboard and mouse are recommended.

Pick up Beats from the PlayStation PC Store and then wait for Christmas. I always get yelled at for buying myself things somebody else planned to buy me for Christmas/birthday.

Eh, Midway is apparently shipping UTIII "in limited quantities" this holiday season, with proper shipments to arrive next year. My Target was sold out today, so I'd recommend trying to find a copy while you can.

Already a pretty healthy userbase online for a UT game on a PlayStation platform, which hasn't happened since UT99 back on the PS2.

I think in the long run the PS3 version will certainly exceed in sales over the PC version; Epic practically develops this franchise for the fans, and the main userbase, however large or small, exists mainly on the PC platform. While Unreal is a fantastic franchise it's never garnered massive sales, and that was certainly proven when Gears quickly and easily became Epic's best-selling title. That, and the already dismal sales of the (beta) PC version could make it a little easier for it to be outsold by its console counterparts.

While I certainly don't expect the PS3 version of UTIII to exceed the 4+ million sales of Gears, I think that the console version, designed to expand the audience, will do surprisingly well being the first console game to support fully user-created mod-content. If released in a timely fashion the 360 version has the potential to easily outsell both the PS3 and PC versions with or without mod support, as that Gears-push will attract all the new Epic fans that were made last year with the 360's help.

On the subject of UTIII, I caved and went ahead and picked up my preorder from Gamestop today instead of cancelling it and buying the game from Toys R Us like I had planned.

Boy, am I glad. It's been over a year since I hung up my UT2k4 towel but after a few botmatches I had my A-game back and I was loving it. It's tough letting go of some of the things I loved about UT2k4, but going back to the UT99 formula feels pretty good. Here's hoping Epic gets the PS3 Toolset out for PCs in the next few days and the mod content (Assault, Invasion, Zoom Instagib and Bombing Run please) gets out there.

I saw previews of the stuff from Orange Box. It looked ridiculous. Like, graphically ridiculous. Or maybe they were only showing the stupid shit, who knows.

Mmm... this week, I guess I'll be sitting out. Mass Effect and GHIII were my big thing this year. And perhaps Revenant Wings, all of which I now have, or my siblings have, except GHIII and I plan to fix that problem soon.

Rock Band is more involved, but if I wanted to have 4 people over all the time I'd make a real band....

The Orange Box is definitely a good deal, and I love Portal, but personally I loathe Steam's DRM practices. Maybe if Portal was released as a standalone game (with more levels of course; I've heard rumours about this happening for Wii too) without any ties to Steam, I'd pick it up. But otherwise, Ehhhhh at Valve. Ehhhhh very much.

Unfortunately no games for me for a while The Christmas crunch makes me lag behind though I usually get a couple for presents. Then in January I have several family birthdays so thats another month of cutbacks. /sigh Sometimes it works out to my benefit though cause I'll find out from actual gamers what is good and what is not. Kinda getting tired of the mediocore reviews from magazines trying to keep their butts covered.
