MGS4's been delayed to Q2 2008.

METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS Release Update October 31, 2007 KONAMI announced today that "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS", the latest in the METAL GEAR series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.
KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.
KONAMI will continue its efforts to make "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" meet everyone's expectations.
Further information regarding the release date will be announced as soon as possible.

SCE had better stick to Q1 2008 for Killzone 2. MGS4 was expected to be the big title that launched a strong year of titles, but now it'll likely be in the middle of that.

On the bright side, those of you begrudgingly leaning towards buying a PS3 because of MGS4 can hope for another "price adjustment" before Spring 2008.

Ah well, whatever it takes to make it epic beyond epic. Sort of expected that considering they delayed SSBB.

On Wii, yes, because Nintendo always delays their games.

On PS3, it's just...all games get delayed. :D

To be honest I didn't expect the game to make it out around February, so a late March/April release won't be too bad. Hopefully this will be the final delay however, as they have the entire base of the game complete. A few extra months of polish can't hurt a game like this, just like with Brawl.

no, it just seems everything that is through sony get delayed. remember Grand turimo 4...took like 3 years and all the hype was about online play. when it finaly came out....no online. they said that they "dindt have the time". I hate sony and thier delays. thats all im saying feba

I don't much care. I have so many games coming this winter that even missing a blockbuster for a few months just gives me time to get caught up. I still have Warhawk and Mercury Meltdown Revolution in shrink-wrap because I can't be bothered to unwrap them, and I have Rock Band coming next week...

But 9+ million sales each time they make a game surely showed Polyphony Digital that fans don't mind delays that much.

Not surprised one bit but not too upset by it either. Let them take their time and make the game OMFGWTFBBQPERFECT (as an old friend says). But release the game and its subpar, all hell is gonna break loose. LOL

My daily schedule is so tight that squeezing in more games makes me frustrated. LOL My shelves are filled with games that I've never touched or barely touched and I feel so guilty every time I look at them!! LOL

I'm pretty sure Kojima could release the game today and plenty of people would be satisfied. He said the same for Brawl back in freakin' APRIL.

I'm all for making the greatest games of all time even better, though. That's obviously what they're planning on doing for Brawl, and more polishing for METAL GEAR ONLINE v2.0 is always a good thing.

You know what I think? I think the delay is to integrate stuff into PS Home and/or Metal Gear Online. The game is shown to be playable at E for All, so it's not an issue of engine mechanics, and they've had an eternity to work on story and missions.
