Anyone else notice the language round here is getting a little bad? Anyway, I have this visions of a RL/CGI movie preview for Halo. It ends with one of those little guys with a sticky on himself running towards/into the camera, screaming, and blowing up simultaneously. yes?

Ontopic- I'm one of those that just doesn't go see movies unless I'm dating someone who feels like going. I typically can wait till it comes out on dvd since I have things going on.

Movies are a limited option for me atm (a theater here shows movies in their native languages with Japanese subtitles, but the selection is extrememly limited, much like it was in Luxemburg; my only other option is the base theater. Again, shitty selection). I rarely go out to see them. I'll wait until they come out on DVD usually.

Of course, if they would stop making shitty movies, that might help too. Resident Evil and Silent Hill were the only good video game movies I've seen in a while, and Spirits Within wasn't bad, like was said earlier, it's just not a movie worthy of the Final Fantasy title.

I would like to see a good Gradius or Mega Man movie, but some games just aren't movie material.

DMT is a hallucinogenic, been used by the natives in Brazil for millenia in shamanistic rituals, similar to LSD but not as long lasting, and occurs naturally in certain plants. It's also produced to some extent in the human brain when dreaming, and it's release in the brain when severely injured may be a reason for the "near death experiences" people have.

Silent Hill was crap. It deviated from the game waaaaay too much (and the producer even admitted to this and said the next movie would follow the game more closely)

The RE movies are all garbage, especially the 2nd. Super Woman + Zombies? No thanks...


And sadly, Peter Jackson's Halo seems to be dead. He and Microsoft just can't get any of the studious to work out a deal. It's pretty stupid too, given the obscene money Halo 3 racked in within a week ($300,000,000!)

Well, Silent Hill 1 and 3 were connected. 2 was a separate story and 4 wasn't even a part of the series, it just got the Silent Hill name slapped on at the very end with some vague references and 1 old character. Origins also ties into SH1 very heavily and is the backstory for the series.


The problem with the movie was they were trying to do sort of a prequel I believe, but they screwed it up royally. If it's a prequel, what the hell were Cybil and Cheryl doing there? Shouldn't it have just been the mother? Harry's role was screwed up too...

That's sort of subjective. I mean, I've seen some really great films over the past few years. Most of them were not big blockbusters, but I don't really go for that kind of thing very often anyway.

I thought Spider Man 3 was pretty weak actually.

Topher Grace: Absolutely the worst person they could have picked for Venom. There were a lot of other problems with the movie (way too many villains, the movie dragged on for an extra 30-60 minutes...) and it was by far the weakest of the 3 (2 was still best) despite the sales figures. All that moolah they made over the weekend was from Hype.

The same could be said of Transformers, and most other films these days. Hollywood has been feeding us nothing but garbage for the past while (even Lord of the Rings. Like Spider Man 3, the 3rd part was just an extended rehash of the 2nd movie.)

Oh, then there's the new lolbatman movies. Has anyone seen how stupid the new joker looks? Bob Kain must be rolling in his grave. Give me Michael Keaton + Tim Burton any day. Need I remind you all that Arnold nearly killed Mr. Freeze for everyone ><


It's not like every movie has been bad, just most of the big block busters. All the overly hyped movies (save perhaps for the Simpsons, even if it was over 5 years too late) have been let downs.


At least Clerks 2 was good (if not really disturbing @_@)

The only thing we're missing is an animated Tick Movie... but can anyone withstand such an onslaught of well-written stupidity and hilarity?
