I wouldn't bank on Metal Sonic or Shadow, they're trying to avoid clones. Metal Sonic isn't that well-known anyways (Sonic 2's was Silver Sonic, and Sonic and Knuckles's was Mecha Sonic; Metal Sonic has only appeared in Sonic CD, Knuckles's Chaotix, Sonic R, and in SA2: Battle but only for 2-player mode. Of those, the only well-known game is SA2: Battle.) Although Shadow can be differentiated from Sonic, Metal Sonic is supposed to be a clone character.

That and there's so many other Sonic characters they could put in that would make more interesting fighters gameplay-wise than Shadow (Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Vector, Espio...)

I wouldn't count on Eggman too much either since he can't do anything without some sort of vehicle, and he's mainly projectile-based in Sonic Adventure 2.

As for stages, Sky Sanctuary Zone from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, although Casino Night Zone would be fantastic. But if we go with something from the Dreamcast era, I'd hope for Windy Valley or Meteor Herd.

I was thinking that all the fake sonic's are clones, thats why I added robotnic to the prediction in his little egg thingy.

I do have to say that it would be nice to use fake sonic's as a costume for sonic with the same move sets, that would be very good!

I'm about to explode at hearing the release has been delayed until next year...

I was getting soooo stoked to go pickup my copy in just 2 months.

This had better another example of Nintendo holding out on us with just cause (see: Twilight Princess).

Honestly it was probably delayed so they could make the best game ever even better.

With the amount of hype this game is getting, they most likely decided to hold it back a few more months and add even more content.

I hope you're right. Maybe they can get in that Wii Remote memory usage Sakurai's been vying for, if they haven't already.

Also, the ability to be updated with Wii Version Updates: there will be new abuses and people will find them.
