The battery that ships with the model is "more efficient," i.e. it gives you the same amount of battery life as the old model, but with less power needed.

You can still use one of the original batteries (either the normal or heavy duty models that last even longer), and it will give you longer battery life. However, the PSP Slim standard battery is smaller, so an original model battery will not allow you to use the Slim's battery cover.

You can, however, order a replacement cover designed specifically to fit with the older batteries from Sony free of charge. Early reports suggest you can get around 10 hours minimum on a PSP Slim, using the standard original battery, and around 15 hours using the heavy duty original battery.

US and Japan use different region codes for UMD. They do however, share the same region code for BD, even though all BD players are region-free.

      Re: Crisis Core PSP Slim

I own this package. They are all serial numbered so mine was only taken out to ooo and ah at and then put away. I did play a bit of Crisis Core as I bought another copy to try on a different PSP. I got stuck at one point and couldn't get past it. LOL Don't really want to either because I want to be able to read and follow the story but the game is absolutely GORGEOUS!! If you are a FF fan and have a PSP, then this is a must buy when its released here.....or get it now if you can read Japanese! (Make me jealous!) The unit itself is stunning. It is a heavy silver metal flake. I didn't think it was before I bought it so it was a pleasant surprise. I really would love to take it out show it off but I'm so afraid I'm going to scratch it! It came with a keychain thats Cloud's blade but its not that impressive. The game that came with it has a special edition jacket that is shiny silver to match the PSP unit. On the back of the PSP it says Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary and has a picture of Cloud, Zack, and Seph. It also says Crisis Core.

The slim PSP's are lighter and I will be getting one because it will help when you play it for extended periods and it will also be lighter in the pocket. I own a ceramic white JP PSP and the switching around of the X and O drives me crazy at times. LOL I have a US PSP that is modded and when I go to play games on that unit I'm all screwed up! But all in all it is easy to get used to. It's funny too when I go to play FFXI because I get the X and O mixed up at times still. (I use a controller with my PC.) One of the things I don't like about the new slims is the UMD door. It just seems a bit cheap to me and disappointing. I didn't get to power up the unit since I'm not going to be using it so I can't comment on how it works.

I did see a video online where a guy put 2 Crisis Core's into 2 PSP's side by side and booted them up. The loading screens were like 10 seconds longer on the older PSP over the slim. I read a review where they said that the loading times at most were 1 second faster but its hard to believe that when you watch this video. There was a significant difference. It possibly could be only for that particular game but it sure was surprising!

If you can afford to get this package, I highly recommend it. Your friends will seriously be jealous, especially if they are FF fans! I wish I could afford a second one so I could take it out and use it without feeling guilty!

EDIT: ok it was bugging me so I dug up that video I was talking about....

That irked me so much while starting out KH2:FM. "Stop f*ing jumping Sora, attack attack attack!!" So used to the US scheme.
