Not really. If you were a parent and some fruity looking weirdo came up to your kids and started acting really creepy and you have no idea what the hell's going on since the average citizen doesn't know what Final Fantasy XII is, would you sit there and let them harass your kids? It isn't a big deal for us since we know the source material, but he obviously doesn't and is more concerned about his children's welfare.

Anyways, pretty amusing video. Definitely uh... different.

Protecting kids sure, I can buy that but the way he did it was inexcusable. Something like a 'please go away' would have been fine. But he threatened to kick his ass. Great way to raise your kids, beat everyone up who you find 'crazy'.

It's interesting that you're trying to demonize the guy. I see a father walking to the local supermarket while holding his daughter's hand and accompanied by two more of his children, minding their own business. Suddenly some creepy looking teenager approaches them saying oddball things and is dressed up like it's Halloween in the middle of the summer.

I'd wager his kids are very safe in general. What you're not realizing is that there are a lot of people who don't take "no" and "please" seriously, but the threat of physical harm tends to make people back off pretty quick, often permanently, and when it comes to your kids, better safe than sorry.

I mean, he says "I'm Captain Basch from Dalmasca!" How is that in ANY way threatening his kids? Hell, he starts to WALK AWAY before that guy tries to start shit.

And also, who the fuck says "look up that way!" to try to punch someone? If you're going to teach your kids to be a stupid intolerant dick, at least teach them to fight fair.

Edit: Also, I thought it was obvious that the guy wasn't really going to hit that teenager. I mean, come on. If that guy was going to hit him, he would have just done so. You clearly aren't willing to see the situation from that guy's point of view, but you can't seriously begin to tell me that you actually think that the burly guy said "look up that way" to try to get some kind of advantage in a possible fight. He said that because he wanted the teenager to realize that he meant business and doesn't want him near his children, at all.
