They all have their strengths and weaknesses. To someone who doesn't own all three, this could mean that they will easily hold one highly over the other. To someone who doesn't own any of the three, it could mean that this generation really sucks ass.

To someone who owns all three (at least I did at one point), it's easy to see that this is the most diverse generation in an extremely long time, and I see know reason why all three consoles won't be successful in their own right.

Mac's hardware could do gaming, and some games would actually do them well, people aren't making the kinds of games gamers talk about for Mac - due to the hardware. Perhaps if Mac busted out a gaming enthusiast machine, we'd have more games that were PC & Mac, or more just Mac games that people actually wanna play.

Also, I don't think I've ever heard of anyone using emulation for PC gaming- short of outdated systems such as handhelds or MAME, actual PC games are usually played using WINE, which as the name says, IS NOT an EMULATOR. Running something like Parallels for modern 3D gaming would almost certainly be painfully slow on anything but a very recent powerful computer.

Yes, Wine stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator, following in the foot steps of GNU. But for the sake of most people's understanding Wine convinces the application it's running in one environment while not completely. For most people this is emulation, and I was too lazy to write a more detailed post.

I doubt it, unless Mac tried to get in on the console wars, a machine from them would probably get little attention from the people that matter in the game industry (people that make games)

Mac has some pretty sweet hardware, but there's just no games for it, mainly because the people that buy macs aren't likely to be interested in games anyway (and those that do will probably have Boot Camp or something like it already), which is basically the same problem Linux has. Mac could easily roll out something like a Mac Mini or AppleTV with a graphics card, toss in a controller, and make it play games like any other console would, and get in on the console wars, but I doubt they want to. No doubt it would help them show off the power of OSX or whatever they're spewing now, but making hardware overpriced in the console market will kill you (PS3), and packaging a complete, easy to use computer is what Apple does.

DX10 is pretty, OpenGL3.0 should be at least as good though- the problem is more in "How much can game makers do?" and "Will I be able to run it with more than 5FPS?" than it is "game engine pretty..." though.

Yeah, OpenGL 3.0, aka Mt. Evans, will have most, if not all of the features of DX10. The most exciting thing about the new OpenGL revisions though, is that they seem to be doing a major overhaul of much of the old code to make OpenGL more efficient.

DX10 went through a similar overhaul in terms of efficiency. Unfortunately from what I have been hearing, because of the extra DRM featu--err I mean restrictions overhead, many of the performance gains were negated. Though take that statement with a little bit of salt since I haven't been able to confirm it.

That's cause it's based off of King of Fighters/Street Fighter. >_>

It's also much worse because of the ridiculously unbalanced characters and pointless matches. But sometimes it is fun to just see Optimus Prime fight Killer Whale...something about it is just funny.

Half of the matches are like fighting the final boss of a KoF game on super Hard(impossible unless you're hyper-leet). >_>

Well I'm trying to get a few characters but I only have 5 (Broli, Roomi, SandRock, Kung Fu man ,Evil ken, and Evil Ryu And I can't get the others too work.) But yea, This is totally off topic and we should make a thread for this instead of talking about it on the PS3 Forum

And Looks like FFXI is getting a new member, *Cough*Me*Cough*, I'm getting A prepaid card next week, Ill be working for my grandpa and Grandma doing errands for them, and Ill be on Bahamut server. (But my guess is I already made enemy's in the first few days of being on the fourms. I alwase make enemy's quickly (Mostly noobs that I rant at. Thats why my Rep is at 50% bad for Unsupportive) . But I make more friends after a week. OOh and thats my Gamer Tagg in my Sigg.
