Re: New tactic in WOW
Gold sellers are such idiots. Especially on WoW. I don't think any of them really understand that if you keep spamming a large player base with adverts, people just get annoyed. Even the ones that buy get annoyed and would most likely take their business elsewhere.
There was another tactic they used after Blizzard stopped them from spamming with level 1 characters. Which was to invite everyone in the area into a raid group and start spamming the whole chat with their advertisement.

Re: New tactic in WOW
Hmmm, reminds me the old days of Diablo and Diablo 2 (glad I stopped playing.) I dont get it why is Blizzard so bad when it comes to getting rid of gil sellers and spammers? Seriously you NEVER or RARELY have that problem in FFXI and if you do they get banned and they never return...oh well....Originally posted by Omecle View PostGold sellers are such idiots. Re: New tactic in WOW
*takes off Hinder's rose tinted glasses* Those tarus that all look the same with names like "efjhdy" following that one PL are all RMT. That level 75whm, no sub, rank 1 that is always camping that same NM, is most likely RMT. When you get to whitegate, those people /shouting about all that uberly awesome/expensive gear that they are offering you, they're RMT too.Originally posted by Hinder View PostHmmm, reminds me the old days of Diablo and Diablo 2 (glad I stopped playing.) Sure RMT get banned, but it doesn't take them long to get back online and re-level. As far as RMT go, I don't think we even dent their numbers when they get banned, but we have to keep banning them just to stop the numbers from growing.

Re: New tactic in WOW
It's just one of those things that MMO get. I highly doubt we will ever get rid of all RMT, infact I highly doubt any MMO will. You'll pick up on who are RMT and who aren't and that will help. Most people I know generally don't want to pt with or be associated with them in any way, infact I've heard of many cases where people have been unknowingly in a pt with rmt and someone has /telled them saying so but since they refused to leave the person went on to call them RMT. So generally, whether you care or not it's best to just stay away from them otherwise people will start pointing the finger at you.Originally posted by Hinder View PostHmmm now that you mention it I do see alot of people that have "?" by there name...and when u talk to them they go "......." or I dont speak english or Japanese...or slap you then laugh and weird names like wtewtw or somthing...But I guess every MMO gots them..thats the bad thing about these types of games I guess....
Although most RMTs are obvious, you can't follow a stereotype always, don't think because they're too low level and too low rank but they have all +1 gear they're RMT, the amount of times people have accused me of buying gil on my mule and I have to explain to them I can afford that gear without buying gil since I have a main which is capable of making more gil than my mule can.

Re: New tactic in WOW
I noticed this the other day. I'm like "Why am I getting invited to a raid by some level 1 halfway across the world?" Then when I joined out of curiosity it all became clear.Originally posted by Omecle View PostWhich was to invite everyone in the area into a raid group and start spamming the whole chat with their advertisement.

Re: New tactic in WOW
It surprises me FFXI RMT don't try something similiar, like sending an invite to someone lfp just to spam about how they can buy their gil. Maybe they're smart enough to know it won't work, (boo.. smart RMT) or too stupid to think of this, in which case, I hope I don't give them any ideas.Originally posted by Murphie View PostI noticed this the other day. Re: New tactic in WOW
True, it probly has to be hard for new players like me though. Because people will think that you are a RMT or somthing or atleast thats what I got when I joined 3 days ago...But I said no I am new to FFXI first off I dont even know how to do RMT lol and I dont really care..its kind of dumb get a life get a REAL legal job or somthing...but yeah it can get anoying oh well thats the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Also I have been to one of those RMT raid things before..and I was like this is soooo retarted nobody even bought what they were trying to do..so I left.Originally posted by fallenintoshadows View PostIt's just one of those things that MMO get. Re: New tactic in WOW
As long as your name is nothing similar to "skdghdf", you actually bother to level without a gimped sub/ no sub at all and rank up when you can I'm sure no one will believe you are RMTOriginally posted by Hinder View PostTrue, it probly has to be hard for new players like me though. I remmember that guy, he also created his retarded RMT list, I hate people like him.... back in the day I was called RMT for a little by a small group of morons, because I was a DRG/WHM farming in the tower.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
