  • If you could live in an MMO, would you?

if you could live in an MMO world as a simulated reality, say through something like in The Matrix or any other number of books that have mentioned the topic, would you?

That is, spend your entire life in the game, it's universe.

And if it were possible, what MMO (World) would you want to be in, and what would you do?

Personally, yes, in an instant, and FFXI. Even though I personally don't find the game itself fun, I still love the world. I'd probably become a DRG, and spend my time hanging out in small towns. Rabao (well, maybe not, it is a desert), for the fishing, Mhaura for the arts and crafts, Kazham for the Mithra. Maybe move to Aht Urhgan and take up a job as a mercenary.

FFXI. The only other MMO I've seriously played is WoW, and it kind of knocks the wind out of your sails when you kill the BBEG and he just respawns next week for you to kill again. And, I've always loved Red Mage. Being one for real would rock.

I would only live in PacMan, but on the one condition that once I had eaten all the pellets, my head would explode and free my tortured PacSoul. Because if I had to keep doing the same things over and over, it may as well be real life.

Sims, but without having my life controlled by another player. Haha.

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.

          Sims,
Not an MMO (well, there was an MMO, but it failed so badly there might as well not have been), but why?

I choose it because it's normal and I wouldn't want to get involved in such craziness. Since it's not an MMO, then I'd choose FFXI. Maplestory and FFXI are pretty much the only ones I've played. Maplestory is full of assholes. Plus, I wouldn't want to live in a world where my body is 2D. FFXI would be very interesting considering the Auction House would be like the Mother of where the cash comes and goes. I wonder if I'd still choose the race I am right now if I were really in that world...

FFXI or EQOA in a heartbeat. Those are the only MMORPGs i've really actually played.

Man... that makes me sound like a geek >< But alas, it's true.

Then why wouldn't you just pick real life...?

I'd choose XI too (unless SE's next MMOG is better ), I really like the world of Vana, all the stories and history. After all, that's what has kept me playing all this time, specially since I've been pretty tired of the comunity for some time now.

Re: If you could live in an MMO, would you?

I'd choose FFXI myself. There wouldn't be servers, so the world would be teeming with people, everywhere, and I'd love to get a chance to enhance the world. And also, think about the possibilities our silly characters forego so often. I mean, if an NM dies? Freaking skin his body, take EVERYTHING, don't let that Osode sit under Kirin's ass and just walk away. Just kick his dead body around, pull out his fangs, hair, skin him, (he is a manticore), check his body for everything, and then leave whatever is left that you don't need. Maybe a tad bit morbid, but man, if you needed to make money? Go kill Yags and pull off their feathers until you're absolutely stuffed, and NPC them. That's like 200+ feathers per Yag!

Also fighting mobs...lol, stab them in the face. Yaaaaaay 200 exp for stabbing a Goblin in both his eyes!

I dunno, I just think it'd be awesome, to forget about all the restrictions we have, and live it as if it were real life. There's a lot less restrictions than there are in the game, if we had a chance to live it.

If I did THF in the universe, I'd totally set up a huge AH robbery. Whitegate AH anyone? @_@

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

This had me cracking up loudly. It reminds me of when my kids are wrestling with me and they start getting crazy with it, doing bizarre stuff to try to harm me.

It's still making me laugh. Maybe it's the visualization fo some Taru yanking on Kirin's head hair, plucking a few wads out at a time.

Because "real life" isn't an MMO.

Being a RDM in FFXI would be all sorts of degrees of Awesome.
