Best in the Series

Right then, what's everyones thoughts on which is the best Final Fantasy game in the series? I'm tied between 7 and 8 myself. I was introduced to FF8 when i was about 12 and i've loved it ever since. One thing i personally love about the games is the music, although in newer games such as FFX and FFX-2 i've noticed the music seems to be going downhill...in my opinion anyways.

Me personly nothing can beat FF7 for its music and storyline FF7 and FF8 by far have the best storylines in the entire series. 7 more than 8 i think. As far as music goes i realy like the music in FF7. Music in an RPG makes the game, along with a good storyline. This is why FF7 is and will always be the top dog.

Oh god no, VII was no where as near as good as VI / III and V. IX was really good as well. Seroiusly VII is trash.

I hated FF8. With that exception I feel that each Final Fantasy game has been progressivly better than the last overall, so 12 is now my favorite and X was before that. None of them have the unique quality of drawing me back every couple years like the first one though. Except XI I guess, but I don't really feel XI "counts" as part of the main series.

I never liked 9, i guess mainly because the main character had a tail and i just didn't like it at the time. And now i've just not played it in ages, maybe i will sometime.

Oh god no, VII was no where as near as good as VI / III and V. IX was really good as well. Seroiusly VII is trash.

How can you not like FF7?! Please, state reasons why you would shoot down such a good game. Im not going on graphics here. This is purly storyline and possibly music.

I guess there's some bias in my case, since i've only played FF7,8,10,10-2 and 11.

I have seen some of the earlier ones and i must admit they look cool, have to try them out sometime.

The main ones i have played is 5,7,8,9,10,10-2,11(obviosly ) And if were including the KH series i have played both KH 1 and 2. FF5 i think i have got quite into, got to my second shatterd crystal. Probebly not very far.

Only compleated 7 at the moment, the furthest on 8 i ever got to was trying to find the blasted white Seed ship.
Got VERY close to compleating 9, but lost the data. 10 i am stuck at the third fight with seymore. Never liked 10-2 ATALL.

In the KH series, compleated 1 alsmost compleated 2.

VII's story was horrible. Most people love FF7 because this was their first interaction with the series. Honestly, the music, story wern't all that good in my opinion.

One of the main reasons I like FF8 so much is because it's the game I was introduced to the series on.

Also, people are too afraid to try the older games (which in my opinion have a better story, then again, i do feel that they have gone the right Direction with X and XII (even though I'm still playing though XII).

I'd have to rank them

I have not been much of a fan of the old ones, but i am trying to get into them. firstly by trying to find them.
