Well, it seems that Microsoft (as well as any other game company) likes to screw us in terms of demo's and what not. They just released the Vampire Rain demo on Xbox Live. But wait, what's that Major Nelson, it's only available to players from Japan?
WHY OH WHY? Why is stuff region locked? Well have no fear, it's not really region locked to JP systems (most of the games are, but this isn't), it's just regionally locked to your XboxLive account. So what I'm here to do today, is teach you how to make a free (Xbox Live Silver) Japanese Account. Please bear with me as these directions will be edited shortly with pictures (it's not too hard to figure out, but som epeople just can't do it without pictures). I forgot to take some lastnight (seeing how it was 2am when I finished this) when I was making it.
Well, without further adue:
First off you should go to the passport site : http://www.passport.com/. Make sure you are not logged in, and click on the "create hotmail account" link. Now, here is the important part, the site will ask you where you are from, select either Japan, the US, or Europe. Remember, this is the country where the demo is available, not where you really live! You will require some information regarding those countries so Microsoft will allow you to register the e-mail address.
Japan
Postal Code: 150-2345
Province: Tokyo-to
(Will update after class to see how to get a Japaense phone number and address). But this will get you started.
