Nope.

1. Illegal immigrants are not necessary for a country's economy to function. Same applies to RMTs and MMORPGs.
2. Illegal immigrants are paid exceptionally low salaries for work. Same applies to RMTs.
3. Illegal immigrants are considered "bad" in all public forums. Same applies to RMTs.
4. Illegal immigrants are considered a problem, yet no one has been able to produce a solution to the matter. Same applies to RMTs.

I don't mind if a thread goes off topic because that is the way the conversation went, but you just kinda threw the topic of illegal immigration into this thread and seriously derailed it.

No, it derailed because people blew my comparison out of proportion and refuse to accept my point of view despite not giving me any reason to admit that I'm wrong. I made a simple comparison, and someone went "wha?" because they didn't understand my point of view. Understandable. So I explained why I made the comparison in the second post, then Mhurron told me I'm wrong. I baited him with a question to try to understand his point of view so I could retort with why he was wrong, then Murphie decided to butt in and turn it into a debate on what was or wasn't implied by his post. Then a discussion about immigration took effect.

Trying to pin this solely on me is pretty ridiculous. A lot of parties contributed to it, myself included. It continues to derail because people want to keep telling me I'm wrong without supporting their point of view, then tells me to drop it. I retort with reasons why I think I'm right. Then the next person jumps in and throws in another "you can't compare them" after I just finished comparing them point-by-point followed with "just drop the subject".

No. YOU drop the subject. If you're not going to argue my points, don't rush in here to defend forum buddies and just chant "you're wrong" over and over and over. I'm going to defend my point of view, and I'll shut up when one of three things happens:

1. Someone lists reasons as to why I'm wrong instead of just telling me I'm wrong over and over, and if they're good, I'll concede and shut up
2. No one replies to me any further giving me no reason to respond anymore
3. Moderator personally asks me to drop it and/or locks the topic

Ball's out of my court again. If it comes back, guarantee I'll hit it back.

Your point of view is not only that everybody in the world hates illegal immigrants and RMT, but that they're wrong at the exact same time. You've pretty much walled yourself in and put up posters of 2D fighters.

/sigh Sex, religion, and politics ... can't we just talk about video games? On this video game forum? I mean, yeah yeah, you're allowed to talk about whatever you want here so long as it doesn't violate the forum rules and stays generally PG-13, so I'm not going to stop you unless things really get out of hand, but I'm asking you. Could you please just not? I mean, this really isn't the place for discussing US foreign and domestic policies as they relate to our socioeconomic infrastructure. If I was interested in that conversation I'd have gone to the foreignpolicy.com forums or something.
