      Uh, no, that's not hating, that's a statement. DOA is a mediorce fighting game at best. I don't hate it, I have plenty of things to hate first, if I ever got around to DOA, I'd probably be too distracted by said physics to criticize it.

        Like I've said many times before; I don't like DoA at all, and I specially hate the way Team Ninja renders women (SE's aproach FTW), but that's my personal opinion and it only really matters when it comes to choosing what game am I gonna buy next.

        Everything else is just empty personal online rhetoric, just like everything else.

        But back on topic. Is that image in the OP actually a 2D sprite? I can say Capcom has done a much better work in the past, so it really looks to me like that's a 3D model due to the kinda-cell shaded looks and stuff.

          Yes, that is the new 2D Sprite for the Street Fighter II Turbo HD remake.

          /back offtopic.

          DoA < Street Fighter. I'm sorry, DoA is a button masher at the most, you can be the best player in the world and still lose to a button masher. The same is not said in Street Fighter, to be good, it takes skill, watch the video that someone posted, Evo Moment 37. A full parry of Chun Li's special = win.

            Hmm, if that's the case all I can say is:

            KoF > All.

            I've been trying to buy an old SNK NeoGeo machine with all the original KoF and Samurai (Spirits) Showdown games, but it's proving to be either too costly or not so easy to obtain where I live.

            And I don't like emulations because they just don't feel the same. >.<

              Re: Street Fighter II HD

              I liked the 3D KoF, the characters actually had life to them. Some of my friends who are fans of 2D fighters hated it though. If you want to compare DoA and SF, sure there's buttonmashing, but nobody really wants to play a game where memorizing a long ass button combination is called skill.

              Besides, button mashing has it's charm. It's great for players who just pick up the game and want to have fun, but the small gap between your moves makes it easier for other players to counter you. If you've learned the combinations there's virtually no room for countering.

              And omg hot characters in a video game, time to feel uncomfortable. Just because SE likes 'em small doesn't mean the rest of the world does.

                Except, you know, the people that enjoy it. Really, why is your opinion better than everyone elses?

                  I don't recall saying my opinion is better than everyone else's. It's good that you don't really have a purpose in this thread other than to increase your post count. That's not a problem at all.

                      I just played a few rounds of DOA2 (PS2). Didn't notice the bouncing.

                      Mostly spent the time complaining how flat and uninteresting the clothing looks, compared to Soul Calibur III. That, and trying to remember which button does what--it's been a while. lol.

                      Wouldn't call it a brilliant game, but I got my money's worth for this bargain bin title.

                      * * *

                      I'd be more interested in a SFA2 remake than SF II turbo. I think I broke two ASCII joysticks playing that, and harbor no ill feeling toward Capcom or ASCII for it.

                        Guess you can't post in all caps. I'll bold it though.

                        I'd still rather see an Alpha3 remake ; ;

                          Artist, I read that post, but I don't see anything that mentions the Puzzle Fighter sprites, or anything about frame rate, aspect ratio, or gameplay). But honestly, the gameplay is fine. Hehe.

                          I think, if this does well on live, it'll be a good chance to get A3/Z remade.

                              And this pretty much proves that you have no clue what you're talking about. There are no "long ass button combinations" in Street Fighter games. If anything, it's 3D fighters that come stock with "long ass button combinations". It's 3D fighters where you jam a series of buttons like you're dialing a telephone number. A retard can mash the punch button and execute a 3-hit combo in Dead or Alive.

                              The fact that you dismiss gameplay depth based solely on graphical presentation speaks volumes. Your inability to properly back up your "opinions" since they are based on ignorance, also speaks volumes.
