Shadowrun or Forza2?

So, i have a big decision to make. I can either get Shadowrun (one of my fav. pen and paper RPG's turned into a Counter Striike Clone... which is sadly, quite fun while I was in the beta, but it's only got 9 maps, and no story, and they took out Ork's).

Or, I can get Forza 2, a new racing sim. I wasn't too impressed with the Demo, but, ti was fun, and Gran Turismo 3, has gotten old. Quite old.

Uck, decisions.

Shadowrun. Even though they turned it in to an FPS. Really sad considering they could have led the way with a non-MERPesque MMOG.

Well, i'vebeen debating it, buthte sheer fact that I was in the beta, and played it for a grand total of about 4 hours (It's fun for about that long) is leading me to get Forza 2...

Seroiusly, I'll run it down for you. I got into the beta, was kinda excited, but I was kinda bummed at the same time. As along time player of the PnP version, when I found out they were making a CS Clone to "attract new players" I hated FASA (aka microshit) for doing this to my beloved genre. I bashed them on the forums, and even started one of the more famous campaigns on their forums called "FASA/Microsoft, tell me, since we have Metahumans, where in the hell are my Ork's?"

They had a nifty smart-ass reply to me, which pretty much shunned me off the forums for a long time. Everyone was saying "Just play the game, it's fun!" So I waited, and waited. Finally got into the beta.

Downloaded, patched, twice. And booted up the game. There are a total of 5 training missions. I decided to try these out first, to get a feel for the game. The first one was pretty basic, how to shoot, how to aim, how to pick up weapons, you know, typical FPS stuff. The other 4 ran me though the 4 races, and spells, different weapons, and tactics and such.

Then I jumped online, feeling confident in my skills, and hey, I was actually having fun. Flying around on my glider, comming in for a kill was great.

One of my best memories from the beta was this: I was the only one left on my team. I had the teleportation magik on, and was in a hallway with a room to my right. Around the corner was a Troll, and 2 elves waiting for me with SMGS. Time was getting low, and I either had to get the artifact (capture the flag) and take it ot my Johnson, or, we'd lose. Or, I had the option of killing them.

So, I ran down the hall, guns blazing. Teleported to my right, into the room. Teleported down the room, turned a quick left, let my essence regen a tad sop I could cast 2 more teleports, teleported behind them, dropped a grenade, and teleported back into the room.

3 kills, in about 5 seconds worth of time. They were pissed, and my team won the round.

Sadly, this was the last game I ever played in the Beta. I just didn't find it fun anymore.

The game has 4 Races, 3 game modes, and only 9 maps.

Also, no single player campaign.

Whats more is you need Vista to play it on the PC

Forza 2 looks good, so I think you made the right choice.

Forza.

I LOVE Shadowrun. I still play the Genesis version every once in a while. If my friends weren't such lazy bastards, I'd love to play PnP online.

When I heard they were making it a FPS, I was disheartened, but then I thought of Deus Ex, and it gave me hope.

Then I heard it was a CounterStrike clone.

And I cried myself to sleep.

Pai Pai, Forza 2... is nice.

I took my first online race today with my RX-7, and let me tell you, it felt like I was driving an RX-7. It was a full sim race, no ABS, no TCS, it was nice, felt just like the autocross days XD
