  • Looking for suggestions: 2 player games

Long story short, I have a new girlfriend that is a gamer. Woohoo! Anyway, we really would like to play two player games together, but I have one problem... Between the two of us, we only have one good game that has two player simultaneous play, Burnout 3. While we enjoy playing it together, I'd like to have a couple more games we can play.

I'm mostly a computer gamer, so we're talking PS2 and Gamecube. Computer games would be okay too, but my laptop (that she'd use) isn't all that good.

If anyone has any suggestions for good multi-player games, please mention them. We're not big on FPS, so unless it is exceptional, don't bother mentioning any.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

EDIT: Of course, we're going to start playing FFXI together.

Dead or Alive. I love beating the crap out of my fiance

Lego Star Wars was fun too.

Re: Looking for suggestions: 2 player games

Hi, I have been in a similar (ideal?) situation where my wife plays a lot of computer games with me. There are 3 games we have played together.

      1. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Bit of a pain to get all the hardware together, but we really enjoyed that game. We completed it, and the music is still played in winamp when we want to feel nostalgic about it.

      2. Wii Tennis.

      3. FFXI (obviously). We've been playing FFXI for over 2 years now. We quit for 3 months while we moved home and got work etc sorted out, and didn't intend to ever go back. I played Zelda on the Wii solo until I completed it, re-played RE4 on GC (pro) but couldn't find anything else that really pulled us together while gaming as FFXI does, so we came back to our old characters (minus the 34m gil we gave away before we left) and haven't played any other game since.

Perhaps when the new Crystal Chronicles comes out we'll try that on the Wii.

My wife and I really enjoy playing the Gauntlet games. We ended up beating those fairly quickly though... We love playing Burnout together! GREAT GAME!

One game that my wife and I are playing now is X-Men Legends I and II. They play like Gauntlet but with a little more strategy + ITS X-MEN!!! =)

If you can get your hands on an Xbox, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is an awesome game to play on Coop mode. Better yet you can purchase it for the PC which offers more Coop maps, but it's pretty graphic intense.

The Baldur's Gate games for the PS2 are excellent for 2 players. My wife and I enjoyed them a lot. Also, I second the suggestion for the Gauntlet games.

You have a gamecube and you're asking about good multiplayer games?

I'd just take her to a used games shop and let her pick out games that look interesting to her. Animal crossing is fun, to me, if you have multiple people playing at different times.
