Has anyone ever though about selling the pop items for just gil? I mean as a way of farming. Like say, PT X decides to go farm the Ulli pop item and then sell it (not real money but for gil), is that acceptalbe?

If not, how is this different from farming for items like beehive chips and selling them?

      Just some food for thought

Re: be what u want to be

I hope a response is still relevant!

You have to consider what life might be like if everybody is doing what you're doing, because by doing it you're setting an example that it's completely okay. Do you want everybody else to buy gil and sub whacky combinations? The value of a gil would be worthless, and parties would go absolutely nowhere.

The effect of purchasing gil and introducing it into a player's back pocket is a little complicated. The more gil in the economy, the less it's worth, and while the RMT keeps their gil stored away before they sell it, it isn't technically in the economy. When you buy it not only are you introducing it into the economy, but you've found a source of gil you're willing to go to when you need it. You're now more willing to spend more on overpriced items, and more likely to be a repeat buyer. When the RMT runs out of gil they have to farm it, and when they're extremely low they have to become aggressive. That aggressive style of game-play will only affect the legitimate farmers who don't resort to buying gil, as well as those who do and participate in mid-to-end-game farming/camping/claiming activities.

That's my contribution for the day.

I think this would be more appropriate in a thread of its own, but...

Short answer: Yes, I think it's acceptable.

Long answer: Why wouldn't it be? If you're legitimately camping the pop item, and obtain it through legitimate means (i.e. not claim botting the mobs that drop it, not POSing to the mobs, etc.), I fail to see the problem with it. Does it suck for the people that camped against you to get the item? Yeah. Is there anything "legally" (ToS, EULA, etc.) wrong with it? I don't see anything.

As far as I'm concerned, it's just another form of farming. Little used & probably not going to be popular with the competition, but I'd say it's legitimate.

pop items are all rare/ex. it'd be pretty tough to manage selling it.

Re: be what u want to be

I see people sell ra/ex items plenty. In fact, there are even some LS now that are selling sky drops off in Aht Urhgan, although they might be RMT, they are selling God armor for gil.

god pop items are not. LSes both legit and RMT ones bazaar them a lot.

however, the items to pop Ulli and I think OG are both r/e. all of the new trigger items for pallas, alky and sozu are r/e as well.

Re: be what u want to be

I want to thank every one for their opinions and for expressing your self, thanks for the imput even if its a insult, just want to say two things.
                      1. most of you here talk about how i ruin the in-game economy by buying gil, but most of you dont look at the fact that you do down load songs from the web for free, or down load movies before it comes out or even go as far as puttting chips on your systems to be able to play copied games or down load a buddies game into your system. most of you guys in here prob do this, this is bad for the entertaiment industry but yet you shoose to do it, dont even think is wrong prob, but yet u sit there and talk about people like me and people who destribute it, now u know how the people whos music, movies or game product feels when you decide to down load their stuff for free or buy it bootleg. My point is, if youre one of those people i sudgest to look what you have done cause pointing fingers at people that do what i do isnt fair when youre doing something much worst, and this topic might be something diff or off, but if you think about it, is the same thing.2. For the ones that pointed out that i dont fight for their country or something like that, have respect, cause our country, U.S.A, probably support your country and dont say we dont cause you would be surprise how much help this country gives out to every single country out there, from military training or gear all the way to fundings and help when crap has hit the fan, such as a storm or a tsunami exc. And for the one that said he didnt ask me to fight for him, no one here in the mil was asked to, we do it cause some one has to other wise you wouldnt be sitting there enjoying your life, thank you all for the ones that thank me for being in the mil, but i want you guys to understand something, i wasnt trying to use the mil as a excuse , infact i didnt see it that way until i read what u guys felt, im sorry if thats what it looked like, and im sorry if i gave the mil a bad name, it wasnt my intention to do so, .
Thank you all for the input and i hope this thread didnt make me look like a A-hole cause im really am not, talk to you guys later and have a good night.

1.) I don't download anything illegally. You can look at my ridiculous number of iTunes fees to verify that.

                        2.) I'm going to assume you're kidding.

                          dude! paragraphs! please!

regarding point 1. you do that too don't you? can't really use that as your defense now can you. doesn't give you much ground to stand on.

point 2. that's the kind of ego centric thinking that gets americans in trouble with the rest of the world.

mod warning: (cause i can see this getting ugly) if you want to respond to his point 2, please be civil and don't insult each other. Warnings will be issued otherwise.

                          Thanks Yyg!

Re: be what u want to be

You're right, downloading free music is a bad thing. But, downloading free music doesn't fund organizations that cause the economy to crumble.

When you buy gil, you directly support inflation, claim-botting, MPK(until the patch), and overall poverty of the honest player, poverty meaning said player is unable to make a decent profit any legit way.

And our beef with your military reference was your attempt to milk it. You tried to use it as an excuse for your gilbuying ways, When that simply doesn't work. As I said before, I'm in the military myself, my time probably as limited as yours, and I see no need to cheat. I don't know what branch you serve, but I'm pretty sure they have core values that involve doing the right thing regardless of hardship. You took the easy way out, and avoided doing the right thing.

You might not be an asshole, but you're certainly doing wrong. Hopefully you'll wise up before you get banned.

1: What the hell gives you the right to assume that, about everyone who answered? I'd say that's false for not only a fair amount of them, but a majority. In addition, does other people commiting crimes make it ok for you to commit crimes? "Oh, officer, I only stole a car, look at that guy, he just attacked an old woman!" Would the cop say "Fine, you're off the hook."? No, they'd *both* go to jail.

Other people doing wrong does not give you the right to do wrong, the same as doing right does not allow you to do wrong.

2: Holy shit, did you really just say that? I'd really recommend you remove that, not only is it not totally correct or true, you will piss a LOT of people off.
