I think anyone who lived through this will feel the same way about rmt - the perfect example of how rmt can destroy a game in 2 weeks flat.

Edit: SE obviously doesn't think RMT is ok.

134 billion gil gone. That will push your price of gil up.

I'd really like to know how IGE got enough gil to sell for 5$ a million, but yep. Winter 05 was awful on the economy, and it caused spikes that on some items took quite a long time to return back to normal levels.

Someone else asked this too, I think it was Murphie, but what's up with people bitching when they aren't allowed to cheat in online games? I'm sorry your life is soooo busy (you know, with the constant war fighting and learning how to whine in the military) but that doesn't really give you the right cheat.

          Seriously, grow up.

P.S. Also, if the military has a grammar/spelling class for you, take it. Damn.

The real question is why care, y care if some one is buying gil or doing something that u think is wrong. I pay my bill to play this game so i will do with my player what i want to do and not care what people say or think cuz i pay to play so i have the right to do what ever i want, is not only they way im but also my right, freedom of expression, i rather spend 20 dollars or so a month buying gil than paying 6 dollars every 3 days on a pack of smoke.
The reason for this is cause it makes me mad to hear people complain about gil sellers or buyers or what ever it is people complaint about, its just a stuppid game and i will do what ever i want cause i pay for it, and also cause is my money and if i want to sub mnk while using my pld or sub nin while lvl rdm i will, its my right and no one has a say on it, and if you really want something work for other wise s.t.f.u. One more thing, i buy gil, cause unlike many of you out there i cant afford to play 12-17 hrs aday or do anything like that cause i have a family to take care of and cause im in the millitary, thats right , fighting for your rite to express your self, so making gil is kinda hard for me with everything that i do, i have been playing for 3 years and my highest is a 60 bst, but i do have alot of jobs that i lvl and that are in the 40,s or 50's but i dont even have lb3, thats just to show how bz my life is , while most of you get to 75 in like 2 months or less. But the point here is, what gives you the right to point fingers and talk crap about how people choose to play or lvl or express them self, is our right and i stand behind any one that likes to be their own person and not what others want them to be.

First off, thanks for going out there and giving up your time, comfort, safety and whatever else to fight for our rights. I truely do appreciate this. Although I know several great men and women who are a part of the military and I can't exactly see them posting a post quite like this...

But, the point I want to make, is that by your reasoning here, we should all be able to do what we want simply because we pay a fee.. Not sure what to think on this one.. you see, I'm a college student. And by this reasoning, since I pay tuition for every year that I'm in school, I have the right to openly cheat on my next exam and my professor shouldn't feel the need to do anything about it. I then have the right to plaigerise on any paper I am assigned. I basically have the right to cheat, cut corners throughout my education, and then be awarded a degree and become qualified to go out and find a job, start a carreer in an area of knowledge that I don't fully understand. And heaven forbid you run into me in an operating room, or in a lawyer's office in need of a good defense.

I understand that you could come back at me with the excuse that this is comparing a serious real life event with a video game, and that they're not quite the same. I understand that they aren't. But I believe that it's not so much the situation as the principle of it. If it's wrong, it's wrong; and in my experience, your beliefs and opinions on the little things in life can start to mirror your opinions on the bigger things. Let's just hope that if you find yourself wanting to take the easy way out in your military career, you have enough strength of character to stand for what is right and not simply say, "well, I did this in FFXI last week..."

That was a well put analogy, Nymphadora. People pay to do a lot of things, but that doesn't give them the right to freely and blatantly do anything they choose.

You have the right to buy gil.

I have the right to call you a lazy asshole for it.

SE has the right to ban you for it.

Anytime you cut corners, whether in real life or in an MMO, don't be suprised if people deride you for it.

once the sky rocket happened i sold about 95% of my expensive gear and a lot of useless gear pocketing tons of gil. During the price jump i sat on my gil and just basically gimped my self as everyone that didnt buy gil at the time did. once the prices plumpted i baught back my gear for 1/20th of the price and pocketed the rest of my gil that now is finally running out today. I capatilzzed on the rmt and just sat on it lmao.

And He has the right to buy gil all he wants, but we have the right to make his life a living hell.

Is funny how the OP say he/she doesn't have time. FYI if you're playing game that mean you have time!

Re: be what u want to be

Yeah that whole "lack of time" argument doesn't really hold water when you're playing an MMORPG. Lack of time is not a very good excuse for anything in an MMORPG.

If time is an issue there are plenty of other game-types that are more suitable.

Namely ones that are played offline, in which case, be my guest and cheat as much as you please.

"Lack of time" is the argument that holds the least amount of water for me, really. Vanadiel isn't going anywhere. You have all the time in the world to do the things you want to do. The only one pushing you to do everything really fast is you.

Well, if you don't have time it doesn't mean you shouldn't be playing. You should just set more realistic goals for yourself.

Playing casually on the weekends won't get you to 75 with top of the line gear in a couple months.

                                Thanks, Ameroth!

And that "not having time" excuse isn't holding any water with me either. Lol... I don't have all the time in the world myself, but if I do manage to log on for an hour or 2 during the week, I usually find myself soloing, farming, fishing, managing my AH, basically *ahem* making gil. It's easy, it doesn't take long to get into, and I can log out at any time. And I usually have more than enough gil for what I need. Beats me why this guy is complaining about having so little time and is still finding the time to pt, but no time to farm?
