Which makes me sad. For a free to play MMO, it was loads of fun, and I desperately wanted MH2. Not handheld. MHF was great fun, but my brother grew bored of it before we could finish the Linked quests, and they're too much effort alone. Not undoable, but not worth my time.

Monster Hunter Portable/Freedom 2 does come out here this fall though, and I'm excited for that. The first one sorely lacked online play so it'll be definitely worth the buy now.
And this one is going to have online play? The first did, too, if you tunneled through a wireless router via a program. But if this second one also requires a Wireless Router/PS3 to play online again, I fail to see the improvement over the first. Because the first could do that, too. It just took a little more doing. And no, not buying Wireless Router for a PSP. Everything else I own needs the wires. I play FFXI on PS2. Would buy the '07 Vana'diel Collection, but I can only find it in DVD-ROM, and while my PC is more than able to run XI (it ran Galaxies perfectly), I have no DVD-ROM drive, yet another waste of money for one game. My siblings' 360 is wired, they don't have the Wireless Adapter. So, in essence, buying a router would be more of a waste and superfluous.

Capcom's shifting their focus to Western gamers so there's an extremely high chance we'll get Monster Hunter 3 here.
Here's to hoping you're right. As is, I feel we got somewhat sleighted, and they think us only worthy of their portable division at the moment.

And now, I'm done derailing. Carry on ladies and gents. :p

        Monster... who?

Edit> Oh never mind I made a search for the game. It looks interesting.

And I guess I should add it to my PS2 list of games I missed in my PS2less time and gotta buy now to catch up.

Well yeah. Since Monster Hunter Portable/Freedom 2 is a PSP game, it'll require a wireless router to play online. But it does have an official online play mode, instead of the WiFi workaround involving all that PC stuff that I could never figure out. Xlink or something? I don't remember 'cuz I gave up so easily. I don't know of any third party adapters that allow you to use a wired connection on your PSP.

And Raydeus, Monster Hunter is a really fun action/adventure RPG from Capcom. It doesn't get much press and it usually gets pretty shoddy reviews, but it's a lot of fun. I'd recommend either checking out Monster Hunter on PS2 or Monster Hunter Freedom on PSP (which is better).

Sony Playstation Network background downloading sucks.
And I won't even bother to comment, since you don't own a PS3 and I haven't experienced the background downloading myself as the feature hasn't even been revealed or implemented into the system as yet. All you're basing that on is an unconfirmed, rumoured leak from an anonymous source.
