Was that your first run, and did you already know how to get the Zodiac Spear beforehand?

As I said, on your first run you won't get the Zodiac Spear much later in the game (if at all) unless you've read about it before hand. :p

LS mate told me how to get the Zodiac Spear, otherwise yes, it was my first run. The Zodiac spear made the game really easy (But so does getting the Blood Sword) however getting to the spear that early was a huge challenge and was fun

I got it on my birthday (24th), as it was released on the 22nd in Australia. I played through around 4 hours and realised I had made huge mistakes on the license board and was only around level 5 when I got up to the Mimic Queen.

So I'm currently starting again, just exploring and leveling up more in Dalmasca before I head into the palace. I've also done an extra hunt, though I think the next one (a rare cactuar) is going to be harder so I might leave that til later.

The Cactuar was easy as I recall, about the same difficulty as the Tomato, it's the demon wolf one that you need to watch out for, that one is tough. She'll use a call for help and bring out another little wolf. Depending on your level and if you have any party members things can get tricky then.

Ugh... I remember that one. Got killed at least four times before actually defeating it. Then again, I wasn't really that prepared or that high of a level.
