Re: Hmm I'm kinda converted....
I'd honestly wait a few months Murphie or anyone else tempted to pick this up. Now the honeymoon period is over, I find myself excited for the first 30 minutes I log in then downright frustrated for the remainder of the time. Nice example, last night I was running through the high elf city on my way to the royal palace, after taking roughly 30 minutes to run to the outskirts of the city from my previous location. Now, after about another 30 minutes finding my way around the city I'm on the right track, on auto run and heading to the palace. Unfortunately for me there is a water channel about the depth of my knees in the way which I foolishly run through. Now, in Vanguard they've implemented currents in water so you can literally spend 10 minutes swimming to a point 5 yards away because the current keeps pushing you back. Anyway, I step in this water trough, suddenly I'm blasted off my feet, shot down a narrow pipe, fired into a waterbowl then propelled out roughly 300 hundred feet in the air above a large lake. Now, most games would consider it suitable enough punishment to drop you in the lake and let you run back, not Vanguard. I'm dashed on the rocks below, I incur experience debt, which erases the 20% experience I had into level and repawns me naked 30 minutes away from my corpse and 40 minutes away again from the royal palace. Timesinks do not equal challenge or fun.
