    1st off: Gamecube Version

H'ok, so... I'm fishing. I want a sinking lure, not to use, since I want to use the Frog to get the Hylian big-fish of doom. I just want the lure because I'm a completist like that. I did what the guide to the game said, catching a Hylian Bass, Catfish, and a Pike. I had them 'saved', left by the door, came back in, fished where it said to fish..... aaand nothing. The line never bobs. Tried it for an hour.

My youngest brother says he and my other brother caught the Lure on the little jut of land to the west of the hut (if you're standing at the door, looking at the lake, its to the left, nearby) which is not even the place the guide says it is. (Yes, I'm aware of the map mirroring, but the guide says past the bridge where you caught the bottle and even shows a picture, it's not the same place.)

In the place my brothers caught the lure, I get something that barely tugs on my line, but never hard enough to catch. I tried that for TWO hours before I gave up. So what gives with the lure?

Also: Southern Exit of the Castle Town, there's two towers. One you can get to, a spinner track runs between them. If you look to the other tower while standing on the one you can Hookshot to, there is a treasure box. However, if you cross the rope and look for it from the small ledge, it simply vanishes. What's up with that? Is it real? How do I get to it?

I never got the sinking lure, but my guide says that you'll find the sinking lure in the fishing hole's northwest-corner cove by dropping a bobber line.

As for the chest, I'm not sure. Are you talking about the Castle's southern exit or are you talking about the path to Faron Province? If it is the path to Faron Province which one? There is one south of the castle that you get a Goron to break open and another one that goes over Lake Hylia.

    Edit:

Forgot to add, I think that where your guide is telling you to fish is where you use the sinking lure to fish up a glass bottle, I'm not 100% sure though.

The guide says it's past the bridge up on a jut of land. *shrugs elaborately* My brothers say it's on the *other* side. They both swear the found it there, but it isn't working. Owell.

As for the chest, its the castle's southern entrance. There's two little towers with a spinner track that runs between them that allows you to reach a treasure chest that's on a platform in the middle of a fountain. If you stand on top of the right tower and look to the left, you will see another treasure chest. I used the hawkeye to make double sure it wasn't an illusion and it's clearly a chest. But when I cross that rope in wolf form to stand on the wall and look back over with the Hawkeye, the chest has vanished. And there is, to my knowledge, no way to reach it.

Hmmm, sounds like you should have your brothers fish it up for you then to make them prove that it can be done, or can you hear insane giggling from the other room after they tell you this? Beware younger brothers

I don't think I noticed that treasure chest, but I'll take a look at it when I get home tonight (test today, wheeee! ; ; ), I've got the game saved before the final fight so I've got Link equiped with all the cool stuff and should be able to reach it, Dual Hookshots FTW! :D

Actually, the youngest of the two spent about an hour trying to find it himself, going to both sides. He eventually got annoyed and gave up. Poor cute little thing. I'll try again tonight once I get back from mailing off my stuff to the ye olde IRS. XD Tax time. Wewt.

Bah, I had not seen either of those two chests earlier, I am dismayed at my laxness in exploring :/

However, I got to the chest you mentioned. You use the spinner track to reach the chest on top of the fountain down below, you need to jump off the track at the right time to reach it, inside is 100 rupees.

The disappearing chest you can reach easily enough. Aim your Hookshot at the very top of the little Hookshot bracket, when Link gets up there he'll toss a hand on top of the tower letting you climb on top, climb up, change to wolf form and cross the rope. Once you have crossed the rope change back to Link, walk to the edge closest to the gate and slowly edge Link to the edge until he falls off, if you do it right he'll grab onto the ledge to stop his fall. There is a very slim edge running over the gate to the other tower, cross it by going hand over hand to the other side, once there, carefully change into wolf form, when you do it make sure that you are facing in the direction that the ledge is running, otherwise you may fall off. Cross the rope, about 2/3 of the way across the chest will suddenly reappear, in the chest is 100 rupees.

            Hope that helps ^^

Yes, it does. Thankies much! I shall go plunder it at the earliest chance.

                NP ^^

You wouldn't believe how long I tried to sidle along the edge before remembering that I can just cross it by doing the hand over hand thing >.>

It was kinda funny last night, TV crapped out on me so I had to pull my old Amiga screen out from storage, it's almost 20 years old and it's still going, can't say as much for the TV.

I'll see if I can find that bobber lure, but I haven't done that much fishing in the game so I don't know if I'll be able to find it.

Re: A Few Twilight Princess Delimmas

I had a good TV like that. It was about 15 years old, lightning ran in on it late last year, but all that it did was knock out the sound, but only in AV mode. Still, I pawned it off on someone because it would work on normal cable or antenna reciever modes (I told them about the AV issue of course). I got a new TV, a nice one. Well, it would get a green spot in bright zones of XI, i.e. Xarcabard/Beaucedine. So I took it back, got another of the same model. Same tendency to get a green spot, so I assumed it was just common to TVs these days. Not a month later, I get FFXII, come home to play it one night, about a week after having the game, turn on the TV and it shuts back off. Wierd, I think, making sure I didn't yanno, sit on the remote, I turned it back on. And it shut itself back off and wouldn't come back on. Hit power, you'd hear a noise as if it were *going* to turn on, but it wouldn't, and when it finally did it was a small white square of doom.

So I had to take *it* back. And got a completely different brand which has worked just fine.

I still find it sad that a 15 year old TV was sturdier than modern ones.

And I still don't have that sinking lure, though, I finally got me a Wii, so I've been trying to catch up to where I was on the GC version and let my brother have it back.

                    Heh, I find it amusing

I also find it amusing that my Amiga monitor has a switch to change between a VCR mode, computer mode, and a third one that I forget what that does, but I have only seen other computer monitors start doing that within the last, 3 years or so. Even then I'm seeing more flatscreen TVs that have a plug to hook them up with a computer.

I like my dual usage stuff ^^

And I still don't have that sinking lure
Hmm, and you're sure that you caught all the right fish? Plus you are using the bobber? I'm assuming that they mean the popper lure when they say that.

I caught the three the book said to catch. I caught them both with the 'regular' rod, and with the loaned one from the lady. I've tried fishing from the boat and with the 'plain' rod. Perhaps I'll have more luck with the Wii version. I've not quite reached that point yet, but I am close.
