Re: Xbox 360 v2 with HDMI Input

All of the interesting games on the Xbox 360 for me are appearing on other platforms, so I've no desire to own one and add to M$'s bottom line.

Ninja Gaiden is coming to the PlayStation 3 this year with more content. Gears of War is coming to the PC, and so is Alan Wake. So I still have zero reasons to own a 360 (since I'm pretty sure Gran Turismo 5 is going to trump Project Gotham Racing 4).

Re: Xbox 360 v2 with HDMI Input

So I guess Microsoft's eaten their own words, there's no way they can still believe that "1080p doesn't matter."

This is good news, considering the 360 is rather crippled for multimedia purposes without HDMI output and its miniscule proprietary hard drive. I was already hoping to wait for the 65nm processor, so this gives me more reason to hold out until they can build a cooler, quieter console with two more features that should have been included from the get-go. Perhaps we'll see built-in WiFi to avoid the horribly overpriced wireless network adapter as well?

So yes, to answer your question tdh, they'll likely be adding the new processor to the Zephyr 360. The current version of the 360 uses a 90mm processor, and we know how hot that runs. The 65nm processor they've been planning on adding should allow for less dependence on cooling fans, and hopefully they can build a console that runs as ridiculously silent as the PS3, or at least as quiet as the Wii.

        I'd bet my 360 that it doesn't.
Converters alter the signal, they can't fill in spots to make it a better picture.
