There's no free 10 gold, there's a 10 gold limit. I think any new player would be hard pressed to make 10 gold by level 20 anyways.

You'd be surprised, especially if a new WoW player has experience with MMOs. IMO The AH in WoW is easier to track and play than in FFXI.

There's a lot of ways to make money, but there's also a lot you have to buy in those first twenty levels. Equipment isn't a must-have, but abilities and magic are. By level four or six they're already one silver each. I suppose by twenty the player could have made up to ten gold, but not saved up ten gold.

Though that's the least of your problems if you're playing World of Warcraft.
