I think you could train your pet parrot to be a good WHM with a decent Ninja tank. Good WHMs show their skills when the chips are down - a WHM with a Ninja tank doesn't have to do much except cast Haste and Regen with the odd Cure II/III.

Ok, Im gonna sound stupid here but at least I dont pretend to know anything about things I obviously do not. I have only played mage jobs so far, not pure melee (WAR/NIN/SAM etc)

But why would it be bad for a SAM to have Dual Wield?

Dual Wield only works for single-handed weapons. SAM use great Katana most effectively, which are 2-handed weapons. Unless they wanted to change the entire game mechanic of one-handed and 2-handed weapons, SAM could never dual weild 2 great katanas.

for FF games being the same they are in one way. and in another they are completely different.
there are some FF constants that after being introduced in a game stay in the other games in one form or another like summons, whitemagic, blackmagic, ff7 introduced limits which are in ff8 ff9 ff10 and even ffxi in ffxi they are WS and 2 hours.

then in each FF game there is alot of unique things that make them completely different. ff7 materia system. ff9 learning system. ffxii liscense board. ffxi multi storylines you cant say 2 games are the same because the only parts that are the same dont define the game at all
