You know I have played FF1 - FFX-2 and it still amazes me how people remember what series had what system and what char,s, etc!


I mean, I am a fan of FF, not a hrdcaore fanboy but still, I read about people who are like "Yeah my favourite battle system was xxx in FFxx". I cant even remember the storyline of the last FF series I played!

Man, it must just be me, I must have a terrible memory?!

I was more of a Yoshitaka Amano's fan than FF back in the days I found FF8, FF10, FF10-2 designs to be unacceptable and I couldn't play therm... I just can't. I hate the main characters in those FFs

I'm not that fond of FF7 design, but it was still acceptable to me.

remembering all FF system isn't that bad... majority of my FF memory isn't from the nes/sNes days anymore, but rather, emulators. Which I still play today.

Thats the reason i quit ffxi people are stupid i got tired of them and i decided to make my chocobo run away and then drop every last thing i owned and then i decided to find a hammer and broke my ffxi discs

for FF games being the same they are in one way. and in another they are completely different.
there are some FF constants that after being introduced in a game stay in the other games in one form or another like summons, whitemagic, blackmagic, ff7 introduced limits which are in ff8 ff9 ff10 and even ffxi in ffxi they are WS and 2 hours.

then in each FF game there is alot of unique things that make them completely different. ff7 materia system. ff9 learning system. ffxii liscense board. ffxi multi storylines you cant say 2 games are the same because the only parts that are the same dont define the game at all

FF7 merely improved upon the system and made it known to the player that desperation attacks were possible. They were first put into use in FF6, but you could go through the entire game without using one or being aware that they were even there. It was something like a 1/20 chance of performing one when selecting the Attack command while your HP was critical, and it only happened once per encounter.

I do like how he cites potions as an example of all FF's being the same.
According to his logic, all FPS's are the same b/c they use projectile weapons and all Zelda games are the same b/c you have a guy in a green suit. How can you argue with that sort of ironclad argument?
